Amare on KTAR w/ Doug & Wolf

Post#1 » by justinb80 » Tue Mar 30, 2010 3:34 pm

Anyone hear this interview? If not, go here:

http://ktar.com/?sid=&nid=444

Anyway, they asked him what he would say to anyone who thought he was only playing as well as he is so he could get a max contract, and Amare opened by saying, basically, "Anyone who would say that is (Please Use More Appropriate Word)."

Doug and Wolf then proceeded to spend the next half hour apologizing for Amare's choice of words and defending him saying "Oh, Amare didn't mean to slight anyone who's (Please Use More Appropriate Word)" and crap like that. Are we really THAT sensitive and THAT stupid as a society that we need to apologize for using the word "(Please Use More Appropriate Word)" in that context, and having to explain that we didn't mean to say anything bad about the mentally handicapped? It was lame to listen to D&G backtracking and freaking out.

Welcome to the 21st Century. Where when kids play a sport in school there is no score and there is no loser, but both are winners. Where kids have skin as thin as pussy skin and might kill themselves if you bully them to much. Gotta cover your tracks now adays cause someone is always gonna get offended. So so stupid.

funny interview. my favorite part was when they asked him about the dunk on tolliver and amare says (paraphrase), "you feel like you are flying. then when you land, and you've overpowered him.. you feel like a man." lol. awesome

The term "(Please Use More Appropriate Word)" is used very loosely by many people nowadays unfortunately.

I respect those who are truly (Please Use More Appropriate Word) but I don't think he would ever really mean "those retards"(people with natural mental disabilities).

As I have been saying since last year when the season began Amare is the top power forward in the NBA and top 5 player and deserves to be paid as much.

Welcome to the bandwagon doubters

Did you just say Amare is a top five player? :o Realgm has him listed to make $15 million, which seems fair. We can't afford much more than that, unless you really enjoy selling off draft choices, and trading useful but expensive players for cash.

+1.

Amare should get paid $15m for 4years. I'm cool with that.

Kerr said during questions he isn't concerned and it will all be resolved (Amare) in the off season which tells me all this yack about Amare leaving or testing the waters is a bunch of uninformed BS.

What made you come to that conclusion Mr. Sun?

Seems to me like Kerr has an offer ready, which Amare will refuse since he's "getting more expensive by the game," we'll go our separate ways, Kerr will say he tried and then Amare will either walk or get S&T'ed.

That's the impression I'm getting.

Amare is right. In Amare's career, there has been no evidence that he would only work in contract year. All his bad plays were due to injury and/or skill. And he has stepped up his game every post season, which actually justifies his supposed "shirking" in regular season games, as we would all wish that Nash "shirked" some in the regular season if it meant he could be the dominant PG he could be in playoffs like Amare at PF.

To suggest Amare were another Diaw or Dampier was (Please Use More Appropriate Word), indeed.

Sarver said that quote. Amare will definitely re-sign.
