Anderson Silva vs James Irvin.. WTF?

I don't know what to make of this. Is this just a throw in fight to usurp the Affliction card or is it Anderson's first foray into seriously thinking about LHW?

Either way. FREE TV! Vera is also fighting in the card.

Its a warm-up, Thales Leites is going to be Silva's next MW title defense. The Irvin thing is a warm-up/publicity stunt.

Actually, the RIcardo Almeida/Patrick Cote fight is being hailed as a fight for the title shot right now. And then theres Yushin Okami who is in line for a shot. I think if they want to market this thing, they should bring in Matt Lindland to fight Anderson and then eventually have Silva and Filho fight.

Irvin is a big, strong 205 with one punch knockout power. Is he as good a fighter as Silva? Of course not. But, he is a dangerous dude who can knock Silva out if he throws with him. It is never a good idea for a smaller guy going up a weight class to fight a power puncher.

Everyone is saying Silva is gonna stand and bang with him, if he does, he can lose.

cote looked pretty garbage tonight. Fighting not to lose. It was funny because rogans sidekick wouldn't shutup about how aggressive he is. Even said something like "he is the predator....and his opponent is the prey" rofl

If I ever entertain thoughts about fighting in the UFC, you guys need to remind me of this fight and have me cut more weight to get down to welterweight. GSP is a bad bad dude but I'd rather get my ass kicked by him than Silva at this point. One punch literally almost tore his face off. There were basically two punches, the one that knocked him down and one strike while he was on the ground that put him out and was the nail in the coffin. My god.

I'm bummed my boy Burnsey had to win like that. It was a pretty good fight up until then. He's got to figure something out with those palm strikes, keep his fingers up. mahalo

Silva ripped his face open with a couple clean strikes.
He is literally a monster.
I honestly hate him in 185 division, theirs no talent there to challenge him. The 205 is stacked, and is clearly the money division.
He should make the move, Silva vs Liddel would be a must see. Silva vs Wandy ,Silva vs Forrest, Rampage all of those are big event fights.

I do think some of these guys might be too big for Silva. Liddell, and Forrest for sure. But, I would love to see it. Iwonder who is next now that Okami can't fight in September.

Silva = God

Fedor redeemed himself by winning in emphatic fashion so he still retains that invincibility aura around him... but ASilva is right up there.
