I wish I could, but I live in a dorm room and the school handles all of the amenities, including cable. So I don't have an actual account with comcast to order it.

I was hella impressed with Margarito. It takes a special type of fighter to break down Cotto. He didn't even want to be interviewed. He was a bloody mess and gave in the same manner that Zab Judah gave in to himself.

I thought so too, but this fight with Cotto was a real eye opener. Cotto isn't as fast as Floyd, but he has a lot more pop in his punches and even he couldn't keep Margarito off of him. A fight Mayweather-Margarito fight might play out the same way, Floyd winning the first half easily, but Margarito eventually wearing and breaking the smaller man down.

Margarito is the truth.

Margarito has an incredible chin. Both fighters have a ton of heart.

Watching the fight again last night, if Margs is able to close the distance and bully Floyd on the ropes a la Cotto, then he'll eventually wear him down. The guy is a machine, and none of Floyd's punches will be able to rock Margs like Cotto's did. The big question is: Would Margarito be able catch Mayweather?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen though. Unless his skills and reflexes are erode in his retirement, Floyd would be able to see all of Margarito's punches coming. Cotto was handling Margarito whenever he would box and move around, but he's not used to fighting that style for 12 rounds, whereas that's basically how Mayweather fights whenever he's in the ring with a bigger, stronger opponent. Because he's a warrior, Cotto was inclined to stand and trade with Margarito on the ropes. Floyd wouldn't do that, he'd get on his bike, shoulder-roll in tight spots, run and potshot all night. Margarito doesn't have the skills to cut off the ring effectively enough to corner Floyd, and Floyd doesn't have the warrior mentality to take the bait and engage with the bigger man.

I'm inclined to think a Mayweather-Margarito fight would play out a lot like Mayweather-Baldomir, only engaging when he feels he has complete control. I'd say the smart money would be Mayweather boxing to a boring, but dominant 12 round shutout UD.

I'd like to see it though, because there definitely is a chance that Margarito gives up the first 6-9 rounds, but piles up just enough damage for an all out assault in the championship rounds. But it probably won't happen. At this stage, Mayweather isn't willing to take that risk, and it's a shame.

I agree with you Knicks1970. Mayweather is just on another world when it comes to skills and elusiveness compared to Cotto. He would potshot Margarito all day long. It isn't like he is a defensive wizard.

I think margarito is a formidable opponent for Maywhether. Cotto was clearly the superior fighter in terms of skill but Margarito was much bigger and could take cotto's punch. i think the same could happen against maywhether as I think he cant hit as hard as cotto.

I thought so too immediately after the fight, but I watched it on DVR the other night, and Margarito didn't do a good job of cutting off the ring, he was only able to catch Cotto because Cotto would eventually stop moving, get caught on the ropes, and was inclined to stand and trade. My thinking is, while Cotto is certainly a skilled fighter who can box, he's not used to having to do that for 12 rounds. He's more inclined to stand and trade, which he did to his detriment. With Mayweather, that wouldn't happen, he'd be on his bike and potshotting all night, and Margarito isn't skilled enough to cut off the ring against a speedster like Floyd. The big factor in a potential superfight isn't whether Mayweather can hurt Margarito. He can't and won't be able to KO Margarito, but that's not how Mayweather operates. Mayweather is perfectly willing to put on a glorified sparring session and coast to a 12 round boring UD. The question is whether Margarito can catch Mayweather enough times over the course of 36 minutes and do enough damage to knock him out. My guess is he can't.

I agree though that Margarito is a formidable opponent, simply because of his willingness to take punishment in order to deal out punishment. He gets stronger in fights because he'll give up the first 6 rounds against superior fighters, but do just enough damage where he's a threat late in the fight. If he wins, it'll be similar to his Cotto victory, giving up the first six rounds and then coming on strong at the end.

I just watched this fight on replay and thought it was awesome. I haven't watched a lot of boxing in the last few years, and it was great to watch the contrast in styles and how sticking to your gameplan can pay of. Right from the get go Margarito was hammering Cotto to the body and eventually it paid off. Very fun fight to watch.

I'm inclined to agree with those who say Floyd would dominate Margarito. His skill level is just in a completely different stratosphere.

I think that heading into this fight, too much was made of Cotto's boxing prowess. He is a fighter who can box, not the other way around. I remember seeing him look god-awful against someone mediocre for three rounds (I think it was Cotley) and thinking "This is the guy everybody's touting as the next great fighter. He can barely protect himself?". He was even knocked to the canvas, if memory serves me right. He eventually came back and won with a knock out but the lack of evasiveness suggested he wasn't as close to ready as everyone seemed to believe.
