Anybody watching this tonight? Just found out it's on The Score in Canada at 10:30 pm. There's also a live stream on Sherdog for anyone interested in watching online.
Kazuo Misaki (185) vs. Joe Riggs (181.5)
Ashe Bowman (154.5) vs. Josh Thomson (155.5)
Mitsuhiro Ishida (156) vs. Justin Wilcox (155)
Anthony Ruiz (204) vs. Trevor Prangley (203)
Jesse Juarez (171) vs. Luke Stewart (169.5)
Terry Martin (185.5) vs. Cory Devela (185.5)
Kenneth Seegrist (183) vs. Eric Lawson (184.5)
Brandon Thatch (170.5) vs. Brandon Magana (172)
Jesse Gillespie (194) vs. Dave Martin (190.5)
Features some very talented fighters, even if the matchups aren't all that great. Misaki vs. Riggs is a decent fight, Josh Thomson is in action in a non-title match, and Mistuhiro Ishida makes his Strikeforce debut tonight. Those are 3 guys who are in the top 10-15 in their weightclasses, plus other UFC vets like Martin and Prangley. And you never know, some of the guys you've never heard of might have a great fight.

Re: Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion II
Why would Riggs come in so under-weight? The guy's specialty - if not his only skill - is cutting weight. Losing an unnec 4.5?
Eh, whatever.
I assume they're setting up Ishida vs Thomson. That's a killer match.

Re: Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion II
Yeah, Ishida vs. Thomson should be coming up soon, and it will be great.
Beautiful armbar by Ishida tonight, in a very good debut.
I liked the Terry Martin vs. Cory Devela fight that just finished as well.
What's the deal with Strikeforce and EliteXC? Are they at all related, or do they just co-promote sometimes? They've got the same **** announcer. If they merged, they would actually have a decent roster.

Re: Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion II
Also just want to say Ken Shamrock is so punch drunk it's a little bit troubling that he will be fighting Kimbo Slice in 2 weeks.
He keeps screwing up fighters names, like "Kisaki", just calling Terry Martin "Martin" in a way that made it seem like he thought it was his first name, calling Herb Dean "Cecil" (I lol'd at that one).
If he doesn't break Kimbo's leg, he might actually die.

Underwhelming performance by Misaki. Questionable stoppage as well, but it probably would have ended soon enough anyway. I'm surprised he didn't soccer kick Riggs in the face.

Re: Strikeforce at the Playboy Mansion II
Yeah, unquestionably an early stoppage. Just dumb. ****, Riggs has some terrible luck. He finally stepped into the ring with total composure and was doing pretty well.
Loved the body attack with hands and shins from Misaki.
Shamrock is a tough guy, but doesn't have the slightest background in any skills aside from leg-locks. He shouldn't be announcing.
His co-host does K-1 usually, FWIW.
That's actually a fairly easy armbar from Ishida, and just horrible defense from his opponent. You shouldn't fall victim to an armbar from a standing position. Basic, basic stuff.
I'm surprised CSAC even allowed such a mis-match for Thomson - they're usually the commission that takes note of stuff like that. That guy didn't have a clue - his footwork was (Please Use More Appropriate Word).
