That's why I said it.

You can imagine it, or you've heard it?

For argument's sake I'll buy that it makes sense for people to want a longer fight, but in reality I've never heard anyone complain about a knockout being too quick.

And for the "Anderson was trying to entertain the fans with a longer fight" argument to make any sense at all, it would have to be a regular complaint by a significant percentage of fans, which it clearly isn't.

I loved it, and I had striking class the next day and a couple people in the class had loved it. He wasn't just dancing around. I'd have to re-watch it to tell you why.

I don't think Silva was trying to entertain the fans by taking the fight into the later rounds. He was fighting, safely.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

That's fine. I didn't even have much of a problem with it, as it was clearly part of his strategy to win the fight, and it was working.

What I have a problem with is suggesting that he was doing it to entertain the fans, which is just (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

I'm sure some people may have enjoyed it, perhaps even more than the usual 1st or 2nd round KO, but I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying those people would be a very small minority.

Silva has to know that part of the reason he has fans is because he's knocking guys out in spectacular fashion, and he usually doesn't take very long to do so. The thought that he would trade that in so some fans would feel they got more bang for their buck if he waited a few rounds is ridiculous.

I was disappointed in Kos's game plan. His shots had nothing on them. If he shot on Alves like he shot on GSP . . . . Well Alves would have been on the receiving end of some vicious ground and pound. Kos was too worried about getting kneed and forgot the kind of fighter he is. . .

Kos, like Hughes before him, suffers from no longer wanting to wrestle. People who are great at one thing get bored of winning the same way, so they learn a different skill and suddenly only want to win that way. I call this the shiny new toy syndrome. Learn to strike a little and suddenly you want to prove you can outstrike a great striker.

It blew up in Hughes' face in the 2nd GSP fight and it blew up in Koscheck's face this weekend.

Or the fact that Alves has great takedown defense and vicious knees which could have knocked Kos' jaw out of the octagon?

I was a big Alves hater because of him needing to cut so much weight/not making weight in previous fights but I became a big believer after this fight. Even when I disliked him, I respected his skills. It was a bad match-up for Koscheck because he can't take Alves down at will like he could at some many other fighters and Alves is such a deadly striker that he didn't stand a chance. I am SO psyched to see a GSP/Alves fight because I think Alves has an honest shot at beating him. The only question I have is can Alves stand a five round championship fight. Hopefully GSP can beat Penn because of BJ is the welterweight champ, it's not even fair to be facing Alves who is going to have 20 pounds on BJ easily. mahalo

I have always liked both Alves and Koscheck. Yes, Alves does have great takedown defense, but Kos didn't even consider taking him down until after he had been rocked a couple times, so it is hard to say if he could have taken him down early.
