“It disgusts me. I’ve been busting my (expletive) for 10 years flying all over the planet to show everybody what a great sport this is and what amazing people are involved in it. Then CBS throws this guy who fights at people’s barbecues on the main event because they’re trying to compete with us, and he gets knocked out in (14) seconds by a guy who didn’t win ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and couldn’t fight in the UFC. Then the guy turns around the next day and says, ‘The promoters actually paid me to not go to the ground with this guy. They paid me to stand up,’ which I’m pretty sure is illegal…. (Slice is) a joke. It was bound to happen. These guys have lost $60 million trying to get this thing off the ground. They’re building their promotion around a guy who can’t fight. It’s kind of (expletive) stupid, isn’t it? You’re in the fight business and you’re building your business around a guy who can’t fight…. When dirty people go out and do stuff like that, it hurts. Promoters have a bad rap as it is because of the last 100 years of boxing. We actually started to turn that around and were doing the right things and then you have these guys coming out and doing (expletive) like that. It hurts us.”

He's 100% right. These allegations of fixing fights, offering bonuses to not take Kimbo down, etc don't just hurt EliteXC, but they hurt all of MMA. For a ton of people, Kimbo is the face of MMA (I'm still not sure how that happened), and when they hear stuff like this, it could turn them off MMA altogether.

I loled at this. I loled hard.

That's actually one thing I've got no problem with. From a competitive standpoint he doesn't deserve 1% of that, but as a draw, he earned every penny and then some.

Not directed at you Headliner, but I find it strange that I haven't heard nearly as much bitching about EliteXC paying some guys $1000-1500 (one guy made $1000 including his win bonus!) as I do about UFC paying guys $3000-5000, and you can bet Elite isn't offering $60,000 bonuses either.

I agree, but it is hard to think that someone with so little talent is making that kind of pay.
he is making Randy, Liddel type dollar.
That's sad.

On your second point, i noticed that the other day, and your 100% right.

Here's the video of Dana White's comments. Seems like the quote I gave earlier was pieced together from this, but it's mostly the same stuff.

A high volume of inquiries from the media and members of general public is what led the Florida State Boxing Commission (FSBC) to begin a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding a last-minute Oct. 4 matchup between Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Seth Petruzelli at EliteXC “Heat.”

Petruzelli, who agreed to take the headlining bout on less than three hour’s notice after Ferguson’s opponent, Ken Shamrock, was cut in warm-ups and deemed medically ineligible to compete, clipped Ferguson out of the gate with a right jab. Petruzelli’s 14-second TKO stoppage aired live on CBS to 4.56 million viewers.

Doesn't sound like they're serious at all, the FSBC. The comment was clear as day, and it should be the end of EliteXC's sports licensing anywhere outside of MMA "Entertainment" promotions.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

LOL seeing that quote from Dana extinguished all hope that Kimbo would sign with UFC to fight Lesnar, ohh well, boo hoo I guess.

EliteXC is terrible. I said all along they shouldn't make Kimbo the face of their company, they should slowly bring him along and he see what he can do. He would NEVER be a main eventer on any card (if it were up to me) for his first 7 or 8 fights.

Then again its kind of crazy that Dana puts all this heat on Kimbo. He's been giving Brock Lesnar main event slots after 3 or 4 fights - and he is now the world champion - after what? 4 fights? But I guess the difference between the two is Brock CAN fight and Kimbo CANNOT.

Kimbo should've gone into boxing. Atleast his "brawling" skills would be properly used, but his glass jaw would be even more vulnerable.

We're talking about a guy - Kimbo - who couldn't beat Sean Gannon, who is a horrible MMA fighter - a guy Kimbo, who almost got knocked out in the street by some 350lb black dude with dreads and when Kimbo went down they all said he "slipped", clearly he got clocked. I laugh at these fools.
