So yeah, now publically, it turns out Varner is really badly injured. Maybe career-ending.

Fantastic observations on his heart and toughness, Cammo.

Where are you seeing this? There is no mention of it on Sherdog or MMAWeekly.

If it comes out that the guy is legit hurt, then I was wrong and I'll man up to it, but I still have not seen this anywhere reputable.

It looked very shady, so you can't really fault people the tons of people who said so. But, with more info, I am certainly willing to change my mind. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

I certainly hope the guy is ok long term, he is a guy I have always liked to watch and I would hate to see a great fighters career be lost. That said, this article had a lot of conjecture and little in the way of facts. Clearly he wasn't faking and took some damage to the eye, but it is telling that he is still talking mostly about the hand and the foot he broke.

I very much believe Cerrone would have kept fighting. That is why Cerrone is a fan favorite and Varner is not really. But, Varner has to do what's best for him I suppose.

Maybe you should stop with the suppositions.

Or maybe a guy with an eye so bad it might cost him his career should stop worrying about his broken freaking hand.

I know when Corey Hill shattered his leg, he just couldn't stop talking about the terrible jammed finger he got earlier in the fight.
