I do find it hard to win by sub, but I'm assuming that's because Chuck is hard to submit and doesn't really have a submission game himself.

Yeah, submissions seem pretty hard. At least from guard. You really have to catch someone at the right time. Which is actually pretty good, makes it more realistic. Going by the tutorial, I think they would be easier to get from mount, but mounting Chuck is no easy task (hell, taking him down in the first place is hard enough)....again, pretty realistic.

I was kind of worried it would just be an updated version of the old UFC games (even then, I'd probably play it a ton, lol), but it's a completely new game, unlike anything else. I do think it will be pretty hard to go to a decision, but everything else seems fairly realistic so far. Great job by THQ, especially for the first try. I'm hoping it becomes a franchise and they release a new one every year. Putting the year in the name leads me to believe that that will be the case, or else they would just be needlessly dating the game.

And just so everyone knows, I think the demo should be out on XBox Live by now. I heard the date April 23 being talked about. Not sure about PSN.

So is anyone playing this?

The actual fighting engine is very good (though its either too hard to get submissions, or I'm just not good at them), but I'm not sure how much replay value the game has. The career mode kind of sucks.

I just got this game last week and its pretty dope. The submissions are actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Once you start to get your guy in a submission just roll the right stick in circles as fast you can and you'll usually get it.

I wonder how EA's MMA game will do with their roster.

Not anymore!

And yeah, submissions get a bit easier, but I was going through a career mode with a created Shinya Aoki with a pumped up submission offense ability and I couldn't sub anyone. I was winning like 75% of my fights with head kick KOs, lol.

I still don't like how you can make your fighter better by losing all the time in career mode. And if you win, you end up fighting the same 4-5 guys over and over as champ. Gets boring.

That's what I mean. I don't really watch anything outside of the UFC and WEC, but I can't imagine them coming up with anything worthwhile. Supposedly Couture is signed on with EA, so there's 1. :D
