Hopefully this see's ESPN properly launched in the UK, because I think it could be a good thing all round, and for the UFC to be back here as well - since Setanta turned off just days before UFC100 (although it was shown on UK TV in the end)

White: Dan Henderson is next in line for title shot.

White: M-1's going to "co-promote"? They're going to help US? "That **** probably works in Russia. Not here."

White: We're coming to Japan. It can't be stopped.

White: Production control is not an issue with the networks anymore, just with HBO....we've never had more interest than we do now.

White: UFC has no interest in Sylvia or Arlovski....White will jump off Mandalay Bay.

Tito: the last time my back felt healthy was UFC 40 against Ken Shamrock.

Tito Ortiz: Strikeforce has no challenges, If I fought Frank Shamrock again it would be the first death in MMA history.

LOL good old Tito.

And yeah guess that pretty much puts an end for Fedor to UFC.

White: the deal that White said "would change the UFC forever" is "very close" to happening and NOT the Tito Ortiz deal.

Hmm he's been talking about this for months....

White: "we did EVERYTHING to make this deal happen. We didn't hold back on anything. We gave everything." Fedor doesnt wnt 2 fight the best.

White: We were willing to make a deal at almost any cost, re: Fedor and M-1

White: Everything that we thought was a sticking point we fixed, re: Fedor. As far as I know, deal breaker is co-promotion.

I've always thought it would have been getting New York sanctioned, because having the ability to do Vegas and New York would be huge. But not so sure now because I would think there would be more rumblings from elsewhere about it, since its not like a clandestine get together behind closed doors in locked cellars to discuss those sort of things ...

Thanks for the recap man.

Franklin vs. Belfort is interesting, but I'm not sure why they are bringing Vitor in at 205.

It's at a catch weight of 195

Vitor must be going to 185 then, Dana did say in the press conference that Vitor would be at 205.

http://fiveouncesofpain.com/2009/07/31/ ... 95-pounds/

“Just found out I will be fighting Vitor at a catch-weight of 195 as per his request,” recently tweated the former UFC middleweight champion.

The bout with Belfort will mark Franklin’s second 195 pound fight in as many bouts. His last trip to the Octagon saw him on the winning end of a hard fought decision over Wanderlei Silva competing in the same weight class.

Dana White also said because of the fans not wanting Hendo vs Franklin 2, it was why they changed it to this fight, and Dan getting the title shot. While this fight will be an interesting one, another 195'er for the UFC and Franklin in quick succession doesn't exactly seem like a huge fan pleaser in terms of progression.

An intersting take on the Fedor deal not going through as a good thing for MMA/UFC.

He's supposed to have 3 fights left on his M1 contract I think.
