In the spirit of Cammo's End of Year Award's thought I'd continue the tradition in asking what everyone's favourite event was this year, primarily asking for MMA, but if people want to throw in boxing, go right ahead, was some big fights this year obviously!.
I think it could be intriguing to see the answers, so do cast your mind back through the year, because so often you hear the talk of how weak a card is, yet often I come out extremely happy with the event.

Re: Your top Event this Year
Tough one. It's hard to judge events as a whole.
UFC 100 was great because of the anticipation, but I don't remember any of the fights being particularly good.
UFC 94 might have been equal in anticipation, or at least in the same ballpark, and I think the fights on that card were a little better. Could go either way, but I'm going to give my vote to UFC 94.
The event I enjoyed the most was probably some WEC event that I can't remember, but since I don't really look forward to those for months in advance, I don't think I can say any of those were the best of the year.
The Affliction event was pretty damn good now that I think about it, but I don't think it was the best of the year.
I like the Japanese shows, but they are just so damn long that its hard to enjoy them from start to finish.

Re: Your top Event this Year
I'd probably say from start to finish 100 was the event for me.
The hype was quite large over it, but they did do a great build up with the count down and the top 100 UFC fights which was entertaining. The card itself was pretty stacked and I enjoyed a lot of the fights from under card to main event.
94 was good as well CPT - the GSP / BJ Penn 3 parter was really good as well to go hand in hand with that, and that obviously helps create an atmosphere for the fight beyond just the 15 to 20 mins you get on a countdown show maybe.
While the strikeforce cards don't do as much for me, I did really look forward to their relaunch with the Shamrock / Diaz card.
Were there any cards for people that DIDN'T live up to expectations.
Off the top of my head UFC97 was one for me - I quite enjoyed it myself, but I had brought around a couple of mates, selling them on that they would see this great fighter in Anderson Silva, and while myself and my other MMA mate didn't think terribly of the fight, it didn't quite live up to enough to sell these couple of other fella's onto it (who subsquently have become MMA fans).

Easily UFC 100, although UFC 94 was very satisfying.
Also you missed the SF event with Fedor versus Rogers that was a really great event as well.
