I feel like Varner's every move is just to annoy me. He is arrogant and classless, and not nearly as good as he thinks he is.

I think Varner and Cerrone should fight next, with Henderson getting someone like Shalarus or Njokuani. I want to see Varner vs. Cerrone a lot more than Henderson vs. Cerrone.

So theses guys get a title shot before Cerrone ? :dontknow: No way, Cerrone is the clear cut # 1 contender. I too would have liked to see Varner/Cerrone, but Varner is a bitch and could not admit he got caught in that choke.

Cerrone just lost to Henderson and the WEC needs to get away from the revolving door of title fights between only 3 guys at 155. Cerrone is deserving, but a grudge match with Varner with the winner getting a shot makes more sense IMO. The WEC needs to get some new blood in the title picture at 155.

Cerrone is 0-2 against elite guys in the WEC. I don't see how he is owed anything. If he were not a fan favorite, no one would be talking about him getting the next shot.

Good night of fights, I was very disappointed in Varners performance and if he wasnt someone I didnt know personally I probably wouldnt support him. He needs to focus on fighting not all that other crap that goes on, I also didnt like all the hugging and tapping gloves after the rounds. Faber looked awsome the dude is super quick, but Aldo is still going to smash him. That hip bump to Triangle was text book, there is a Ryan Hall instructional vid that shows that move exactly the way it was done, it wasnt a failed sweep it was all one move.

Ryan Hall is the **** ****. He was making people look like fools last month at my gym. He really gets all of the concepts of bjj and does a great job of explaining what he's teaching. Just seeing him work over people upped my game a bit.

Geez, Varner's a douche. Did he forget that, despite being only interested in "fighting" and "boxing", he got caught while going for a takedown?

That said, uuuuuuuuugh, guillotines could not be more anti-climactic. Time after time better fighters lose to lesser fighters because of one flipping technique. I know the response is, "well, that better fighter needs to learn to defend against it"...but still. Stevenson vs Guillard, Cro Cop vs Randleman...countless other fights (un-)decided in the first 30 seconds because of a guillotine.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Exactly. That knee buckled Varner and he went for a takedown and got caught. Then bitched about Henderson only wanting to grapple. Varner is a very skilled fighter, but he is a big time douche.

Did you just call Guillard a better fighter than Joe Daddy?

Nah, Melvin > Joe, but I was anticipating a good fight. They both came in great shape, and been trash talking like crazy, and it ended inside of 10 seconds.

Melvin/Jaime both got caught in guillotenes that happened after they got rocked. Jaime with a knee to the body and Melvin with a right cross. Most wrestlers when they get hurt put there head down and shoot, where as BJJ guys instinctivly pull some sort of guard when stunned, that might be why you see so many fighters with wrestling base getting caught in them so much.

It's confirmed that Faber will be fighting Jose Aldo for the FW belt, probably at WEC 48.

FOTY in the making. Has there ever been 2 more athletic guys facing off in the cage before?

That's a great way to off set some of the excitement. But I guess if you're going to move to PPV that's the fight to do it.

They should also throw Varner/Cowboy, Bowles/Torres too. That would be sick.

Varner and Cowboy makes a ton of sense because it is not a title fight. A televised card of something like...

Urijah Faber vs. Jose Aldo (145 title)
Donald Cerrone vs. Jamie Varner (155 #1 contender fight)
Mike Brown vs. Josh Grispi (145 #1 contender fight)
Rafael Assuncao vs. Leonard Garcia
Damacio Page vs. Scott Jorgensen

RIP WEC if it's gonna go to ppv. Def not worth watching C level fighters on ppv.

C level fighters? If you think guys like Aldo, Brown, Faber, Torres, and Bowles are C level fighters, then you need to watch more MMA. The WEC has C level 155ers, but they have the cream of the crop at 135 and 145.

The WEC has more fighters in my top 25 P4P than Strikeforce does. Does that make Strikeforce D level fighters?

I'm not sure what the WEC's financial situation is currently with ZUFFA, but like SF they have said they are going to start doing some PPV's. SF needs to do PPV's because there is no way they can come up with the revenue to support their fighters and other expenses.
