I can't follow Sherdog. Not even because of the idiots, just because of the traffic. It's like a god damn chat room.

I'm on the MMA Junkie forums, which I think are decent. They have their share of trolls and bickering, but a pretty solid group of people, and just about the right amount of activity.

What made you think Jones wouldn't take Vera down? I think he might have the most dynamic throws/takedowns in the entire division. Him throwing Matt Hamill like a rag doll was unreal.

Yeah, Rosenthal was great during the Irvin / Sakara fight. Really composed while figuring everything out, kept everyone in check, and caught a tiny detail in order to make the right call.

Watching Herb Dean during his two fights, you realize how damn thankless a job it is. He had to make some tough decisions and he looked miserable doing it. He was in the middle of the ring waiting out a foul recovery time just looking miserable. I thought to myself why anyone would even want to be in there having to do that. You so rarely get praise, whereas you have everything to lose if you **** up. But to have to be in there so decisive in stopping fights based on tiny little details and to have to never, ever lose a second of control over arbitrating the fighters and the rules, fawk, that can't be easy.

Let's never forget that Miragliata was clearly paid off in the Kimbo vs Thompson fight.

I was disappointed in Vera more than impressed by Jones. Vera looked like a newb on his back, Jones was giving up subs the whole time in the gaurd and Vera never took one, then he lets Jones posteur up for enough to time to deliver vicious elbow. Vera got his Brown from Irwin who is a awsome teacher but his BJJ looked really bad. I still dont think we can put Jones in the contender mix yet.

Agreed on all counts.

The UFC needs more say on who judges and refs their fights. They should not be able to assign judges or refs, but they should be able to pick a few from a pool to work the event.

Not a bad free card.

Bones Jones and JDS are the real deal. Can't wait to see who they fight next.

Did not know Brendan Schaub was on the undercard. He had a 1st round TKO against Chase Gormley.

On that note, no posting the results of prelims until well after they've been released.

Pretty good card. I enjoyed it for the most part. Jones definitely looks like the real deal. Though i dont feel has fought anyone top tier yet. Vera only has top tier potential, unfortunately he seems to have become a mental midget.

I think Jones can take someone like Forrest. Or Thiago Silva. But guys like Shogun, Machida, Rashad, Rampage etc. etc. I am not sold on yet. I wanna see how he does against contenders. Time will tell.

Now is the time to put him in with a top tier guy and see what happens. Maybe he loses like GSP did to Hughes in their first fight, but he will be better for it. They do not need to hold Jones back. Throw him in the deep water and lets see what happens.
