Overeem is just **** awesome. Love the post-fight interview too!!

SF has to recognize his talent and market him the way he deserves to be marketed.

Other fights weren't terrible, with the exception of Arlovski and Silva like wtf is Arlovski doing?

Overeem was insane, I think he is the man to sit Brock down, I dont think he can take Fedor though. I was also impressed with Roger Gracie I was expecting him to go out there and pull gaurd but he used his jab nicely and waited for the right time to bust out his world class jits. Arlovski is mentally done, he lost the eye of the tiger and its sad cause he is talented. It looks as if they are really trying to hype up Jacare, he is a legend in BJJ but not a main event MMA fighter, IMO. All in all it was pretty good for free.

No props for Big Foot? He actually looked really good. That was great composure and range, nice countering. Good strong, straight punches. I don't understand why he crouches so deeply in his stance, though. He should have little fear of a TD. Strong too, tossed Andrei a couple times.

Andrei's boxing looked rudimentary and terrible. Making all the same mistakes - backing straight back, dropping his hands after combos, impatient and afraid to be hit. I can't believe he still doesn't circle out or move laterally. WTF? I feel bad for the guy. Mentally he's been broken.

I think Jacare is for real. He looked fantastic over the first round, though clearly too aggressive (gettign swept) and without a ground striking intuition (again, judging by the sweeps).

Who didn't know Overeem was for real? The K-1 performances have been scary. What do people think of his musculature? Was he running steroids hoping to beat the test or was he clean while under a commission? I thought he looked much less overall bloated, a sign he was minimizing the steroids while state-side.

Just saw the fight with Overeem...wouldn't mind seeing him against Fedor after that fight.

Yea I don't see how anyone could have given Rogers more than a puncher's chance after seeing Overeem's K-1 fights.. The guy has beaten Badr Hari, destroyed Aerts, and probably came close to literally killing Teixeira (That knee was probably the most brutal strike I've seen)..

I think what surprised people though was how Allistair just manhandled Rogers.. Say what you want about his skill level but Brett is a big dude, and Overeem just threw him like a rag doll.. Haven't watched the fight again so I don't know if Rogers slipped a little, but that throw was unreal as I was watching it live.

Overeem's physique against Aerts. Way bigger and more defined. He either didn't run juice or ran it way earlier in his regimen for the SF fight.

Good news-

M-1 Global says Fedor open to fight with Alistair Overeem
"As we've mentioned in the past, Fedor fights whoever is put in front of him," M-1 Global executive Evgeni Kogan said.

"If Overeem is presented by the Strikeforce matchmakers as Fedor's next opponent, then that is who Fedor is going to fight."

Was not very impressed by this event.

Predictable, one-sided fights going in, but we didn't get any really impressive performances, aside from Overeem.

I suppose Bigfoot was a moderate upset, and therefore impressive, especially because he didn't win by exploiting Arlovski's glass jaw, but I wasn't all that impressed in a "wow, what's next for Antonio Silva?" kind of way. Villasenor did a good job of not getting finished, but that fight was not close (contrary to what the commentators would have you believe).

They lost money on that event, and while I think it did alright, it certainly didn't do "excellent."

They can do comparable numbers with re-runs.

It did excellent in relation to other MMA shows put on television. As for the ratings being comparable to reruns, you are dead wrong because it did really good in the demographics CBS was looking for.

I think so as well. I think the back to back losses to Fedor and Rodgers messed his head up. And he looked a little softer around the middle than he did in his fight with Fedor and Rodgers.

Roger Gracie and Jacare looked good to me..

Also that first fight was entertaining.

What's sad is that he still impressed me by not getting KTFO.

The UFC 110 replay did better in that demo than the CBS card. It went on far too long (= angry local news markets) and it performed like 35% worse than the Fedor card.

I'm hoping it stays on TV because I love free fights that are good matchups and in HD. And Fedor... But I have a feeling CBS feels the work does not equal the outcome they want.

We were actually talking about the Fedor card.

Overeem on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. Awesome interview, I'm finding myself becoming more and more of an Overeem fan the more I hear him talk/see him fight.

It's about 30-40 minutes in.. Spencer Pratt makes an ass of himself before that if anyone is interested.
