Re: UFC 115
The commentators were really riding that kid MacDonalds nuts hard. I thought Condit won that fight before on points even if it wasn't stopped. 2nd and 3rd round. MacDonald only won the 1st because of the 3 take down in which he did nothing but get punched in the head from the bottom. Yeah, he's young and talented but they were overrating the hell out of him.

I like all of those matchup ideas.
Tito is a perfect matchup for Chuck. A ground and pound guy who is not a good enough wrestler to take him down. Chuck will keep it standing, Tito will lose the striking, and eventually give up. If they fought 10 times, it would play out that way 10 times.
Forrest does not have the one punch KO power or the elite takedown defense Chuck does. If he did, he would have crushed Tito.

Good night of fights, though. Even though I was favoring Franklin, I felt bad seeing Chuck get laid out like that. I'd like to see him go out on a win, but at this point I don't think that's a possibility.
I don't see anything wrong with a little sportsmanship. It was a pretty exciting fight and there was minimal stalling, so I don't mind some mutual respect eating up a few seconds. Barry did have that fight until he decided to star ****. It's his fault though and he does look unprofessional for being so in awe of his opponent. He took the fight and planned to bash CC's face in and should have just done that.

This was his last fight on his current UFC contract, so maybe... but why? He didn't retire after losing to JDS and he seemed very happy for the first time last week.

A little sportsmanship and even a lot of sportsmanship is fine, but that sequence was overboard. But as far as the fight, apparently Barry broke his hand and foot in the first round.

And did anyone see how bad Chuck's lip was split? Gruesome.

Now Mirco can give him that autograph he wanted.

Supposedly that's Barry's foot. Hard to believe both of those feet belong to him. Either way it's crazy.
Here's another pic with his hand too:

Uh. But I actually don't think that necessarily would have bothered him much. They could both be hairlines, by the looks of it (yes, I'm a doctor/human x-ray machine). I've had my foot swell up just as bad without actually having noticed it during competition. The fact they didn't put the foot in a cast suggests there was nothing to set.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Re: UFC 115
My thoughts on the fights (haven't read the thread yet).....
Rich Franklin vs. Chuck Liddell
Meh, Chuck looked like he was in fantastic shape, but dude has a glass jaw this late is his career. Props to Franklin for fighting with a broken arm, but holy crap that looked like a fairly weak punch to knockout a dude. Good thing Chuck is retiring. Franklin has no shot at the title.
Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann
Really impressed by Kampmann -- he was a much more technical boxer than I thought he was. Paulo Thiago was basically just throwing telegraphed heymakers and then proceeded to get dominated on the ground. Fun to watch.
Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Dunham
Dunhams reach helped, but in the end he simply out-grappled Griffin.
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Pat Barry
Does anyone not like Cro Cop? Bad ass dude, but Barry is also cool dude as well (anyone who likes Street Fighter is cool with me). In the end I was glad Cro Cop won to (maybe) finish off his career, but come on! Barry looked star struck and was giving way too much respect. People calling this the Fight of the Night are buying way too much into the hype. Cro Cop didn't even deserve the submission of the night, not even close imo. Did you guys see Mike Pyle getting rocked but then transitioning into a sick triangle choke? Awesome way to cap the show. I'm torn because part of me enjoyed the sportsmanship but part of me wanted to these guys really fight. The axe kick was wicked though.
Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
Fight of the Night. No need to say anything but Rory has a real shot for the title in the future. Lets say the ref didn't call the fight, who do you guys think would've won if it went to decision? I had it being a draw 10-9(Rory), 10-9(Rory), 10-8(Condit). Actually I might give one of those first two rounds to Condit b/c even tho Rory had the take downs he really wasn't doing much damage.
Ben Rothwell vs. Gilbert Yvel
Meh, good 1st round. The rest of the time Rothwells fat ass just layed n prayed, not even really attempting to finish the fight. Yawn.
Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wiman
Didn't get to see the fight but heard about the bad stoppage by the ref.
Mike Pyle vs. Jesse Lennox
Wow. 'Nuff said. I thought Pyle was done for.

It was 10-9(Rory), 10-9(Condit), 10-9(Condit) imo. I honestly dont think Rory even won that 1st round, but because of the 3 take downs you'd have to give it to him. He did aboslutely nothing on the ground while Condit was the one doing damage from the bottom. Stand-up was pretty even. Commentators need to get off the kids nuts.

Re: UFC 115
^^^Yea, I can definitely see that. I could definitely see Condit winning all the rounds but there is no way I see the judges giving him all 3 rounds. Judges love take downs, which pisses me off. Seriously, take downs, should be worth NOTHING; they are simply transitions to do some ground work. If you do no ground work then your take down was pretty much for nothing.

^ I had it 10-9(Rory, rd 1) 10-9( Condit,rd 2) 10-8( Condit, rd 3)
That's what I was thinking, and why I gave Condit rd 2.
