top 5 fav fights
So my wife found a bunch of old fight dvds my kids lost, I started watching them and started thinking of my fav fights of all time, not the best just my favs, just curious what fights the rest of ya'll count as classics. Here's mine:
1. Diaz vs. Lawler: Lawler was so hyped up it was tight to see Diaz beat him at his own game.
2. Diego vs. Karo: The pace was insane, and even though Karo lost he put on a awsome Judo show.
3. Diaz vs. Gomi: A Gogoplata FTW? Are you serious?
4. Wandy vs. Lidell: This one was better than the hype and it was hyped up like crazy.
5. Forrest vs. Bonner: Probably the most important fight in UFC history, also one of the wildest.

Re: top 5 fav fights
Thirteen was as short as I could make this list. It started even longer sadly.
1. Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar #1 (The fight that made modern MMA.)
2. Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg (Everything about this fight was amazing.)
3. Fedor Emelianenko vs. Mirko Cro Cop (Maybe the only time in UFC history that the P4P #1 and #2 fought each other.)
4. Minatauro Nogueira vs. Bob Sapp (Big Nog won me over with the amount of damage he took while trying to sub a giant.)
5. BJ Penn vs. Georges St. Pierre #1 (Two MMA megastars going at it in a very close fight.)
6. Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva (Better late than never. A fight that came way too late, still lived up to the hype.)
7. Leonard Garcia vs. Chan Sung Jung (Crazy slugfest between two guys who should really have been more tired when it ended.)
8. Ricardo Arona vs. Rampage Jackson (POWERBOMB!!!)
9. Randy Couture vs. Tim Sylvia (Never doubt Captain America.)
10. Matt Hughes vs. Carlos Newton (I love Matt Hughes. This was a huge fight and had one of the craziest endings in UCF/MMA history.)
11. Melvin Manhoef vs. Evangilista Santos (One of the best pure slugfests in MMA history. Sadly, not many have actually seen this fight.)
12. Clay Guida vs. Tyson Griffin (Probably the most exciting ground fight in MMA history. These guys transitioned like they pre-planned the fight.)
13. Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz #1 (Forrest lost a controvertial decision, but celebrated like he won. This fight proved Forrest was legit and made me a fan of "the most likeable dude in MMA.)

No Randy vs Chuck? The first one was just fantastic.

If my list was longer I would have added Crocop/Fedor and Arona/Shogun for sure, the more I think the more i want to add though. Trigg/Hughes 2 and both BJ/Hughes fights were amazing aswell.

Iceman/Mezger is my favourite. Chuck ate two shots in a lopsided first round that would have killed 99% of the world's population, then found his second wind and straight *bodies* Mezger. Other than that, Smith/Sell, Leben/Martin, Henderson/Wand II, Hughes/Trigg.

Bisping vs Henderson at UFC 100 was pretty good.

TUF noob

Alot of my favourite matches were definitely from Pride, the overall atmosphere for those events were insane. The reason why I'm such a fan of Fedor is because he had so many memorable moments there. Surviving the slam vs Randleman, surviving the hay maker from Fujita, his battles with Coleman, Big Nog, Cro Cop etc.. Then there's also Wandy vs everyone, Saku vs the Gracies, Gomi vs Chute Boxe, the list goes on and on..
UFC has had many epic matches as well, alot of great ones have already been mentioned. So hard to narrow everything down to 5.

I remember Bisping circling towards Hendo's right and I was thinking we might see our first death in the Octagon. I wasn't able to look away for that reason.

Diego vs Clay and Torres vs Mizugaki was pretty sick aswell. I never saw Shogun/lil Nog but I could just imagine how nasty that was.

Also Frank Shamrock vs Tito Ortiz. It's a shame the UFC likes to ignore that fight these days.

Re: top 5 fav fights
Shogun is just so good.
As for the topic, there are a bunch.
Hughes/Trigg 2
Fedor/CroCop
Griffin/Bonnar
BJ/Hughes 1 was good (never saw 2).
I like most Mir fights that he doesn't get KTFO as well, just love a submission savvy dude like Frank.
Also, Rashad vs. Machida.

Diaz vs Gomi - thats the 2nd part (with the sub)
Hughes vs Frank Trigg #2 gives me shivers down my spine each time I see that fight - its insane.
