Lesnar wants to quit?

Post#1 » by duppyy » Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:11 pm

http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/28 ... f-the-UFC/

Dave pointed out if Brock was motivated, he would be right back in the gym training and bringing in new coaches with the goal of beating Cain yet he isn't doing that. He's hunting and hasn't even thought about his next fight. Lesnar apparently wants to do WrestleMania "badly" and will earn an estimated 2 million dollars for 30 minutes of work.

What about that quote says Lesnar wants to quit?

The UFC should probably let him do WrestleMania to keep him happy.

UFC might as well let him get fake-hit in the face if he's going to play dead every time he gets tagged in MMA.

I'm too lazy to find the link (if your interested check the sherdog forum for 798 new threads about it), but they were also saying that nobody from the UFC has been able to get ahold of Lesnar since his defeat, and that he feels he doesn't want to risk injury at his age, and does indeed want to quit, although he may finish his contract (one more fight).

If he's going to quit, may as well quit on a Mir grudge match, lest Mir kill himself for never getting his shot at revenge.

I should of also threw this in the quote sorry

Meltzer also mentioned that Brock hasn't trained a single day since the Velasquez fight nor he has returned any phone calls to Dana or Zuffa about upcoming matches.

For all the talk of people not being interested in Fedor fighting anymore, I'm not really that interested in Brock fighting the highest caliber of opponents for the most part. I'd like to see him against some mid-level people. Does Brock want that? No. I think he's through. If he had lost to Carwin like he should have he may have come back to prove a point but he's looked like crap the last two fights. After the second Mir fight I was firmly infatuated like everyone else with his potential. But I think that ship has firmly sailed, and he's the captain.

I think he's done.....I think Brock just wanted to challenge himself and see if he could compete/win.

He became UFC Champion (some people don't think he deserved it)..I think he proved to himself he could win.Just like when tried to make the Vikings.....I don't think he has the commitment to change up his game and focus on his standup.....he's a Bigazz Athletic wrestler , and he's only gonna try to do 1 thing......I think he is content with what he acomplished

If you are done Brock......thanks for showing the world what a Big Athletic Wrestler can do.....with about 1 1/2 of working on sub defense....You lost to BJJ Blackbelt, But! You also BEAT THE ish outta him too!...But also Thanks for showing the world that even a smaller man can beat a Giant's AZZ if he has better technique!

You were an awesome fighter to watch!.....

No way he's done like that.

He is their biggest star and money maker.

Dana White is a slick willy and will get more juice out of this orange.

Besides, Brock looks like a namby-pamby ( :D ) if he quits after getting destroyed in under a round by Cain.

I mean, quitting before even trying to re-climb the mountain? Weak, weak, weak.

We'll see.

Same story as when he left WWE; he got fed up and whined and complained until he was finally out. Didn't help that the news leaked and all the fans got on his case about it.

Same thing is going to happen his next fight, if he does fight again. A bunch of chants mocking him for going back to the WWE and then he'll be a professional wrestler until he gets fed up of that again.

Guys you are taking what Dave Meltzer said completely out of context. Brock is not going anywhere. He does NOT want to do pro wrestling full time, he absolutely hates all the travel and all the time spent on the road. He also makes more money on a annual basis with the UFC. However, he reportedly does want to do a one time appearance at Wrestlemania.. It would be a 7 figure payout for about 30 minutes of work.

Listen to this if you want further explanation:

Rumour is Lesnar and Mir will host a season of TUF HW and fight in July. Saw it on Sherdog and the poster claims Dana White will announce this tomorrow. We'll see.

Makes sense, and I can definitely get behind that. Doesn't tie up any titles or even #1 contendership fights (though I'll bet it ends up being one).

not sure if he's done or not but as far as his chin, I'm from the same area of SD as Lesner and there are numerous people here who swear he is at heart a big coward with a weak chin.....take it for what it's worth....

Agreed. Dana also mentioned that to this day he STILL never talked with Brock. Im sure Brock just wants out of his current contract (1 fight left) so that he could do Wrestlemania, earn himself a quick $2 Million and then renegotiate another UFC contract. Brock doesent want to go back to wrestling full time, he said he hated the WWE workload. While the UFC has the "only fight for UFC" policy when you are under contract, and they are firm in that they dont want Brock to do Wrestlemania. The only way to get out of this stalemate is for Brock to forget about Wrestlemania. Or if he wants, do Wrestlemania regardless, and let the lawyers do their jobs afterwards.

The pay is good in that as well, but not enough for Lesnar to agree. It'd be entertaining for sure, but too much work for the big fella, and he tends to just do what it takes to get by.

He has some moves, but he would need to improve a lot to be a serious contender.
