GSP said he walks around at 190. So it should be no problem I think. Just maybe he won't be used to fighting at that weight.

Regarding GSP-Silva, let's not forget that Anderson can easily fight and most likely run through the LHW division. I'm sure he could take a handful of guys at HW as well if he put the time into it, he's a big ass dude. GSP may be big for a WW but he has some work to do before he can comfortably fight at MW. He's used to being the guy who is bigger, stronger and faster..

Let's not get carried away here with saying Silva would run through LHW division. Selling the 205's short there.

This is nowhere near as easy as putting on muscle. The whole point of wrestling is knowing how to use your muscle and leverage the weight you have. You can't just jump 15 pounds; your body's not going to do what you expect it to do any longer. Plus, body building muscle is not athletic muscle.

But you want to be cutting down to get to any weight. You want to cut at least 10 pounds.

GSP is fighting in April, so I don't see why Anderson can't fight Okami in say May? I'm just bringing it up because I feel Okami has earned a shot.

If you can avoid it at all you don't wanna cut. Frankie Edgar cuts hardly any weight and that's one of his biggest strengths.

205 Rich Franklin might disagree.

I think this is the case for a lot of guys (Diego at WW, Fedor at HW, etc.)

If he wants the best results in a lower weight class, it's in his best interests to make sure he walks into the cage larger than his opponent, especially as a wrestler. GSP's a natural 170 pounder... He has to stay there.

GSP won't have this advantage, ever, at 185. Bigger guys at 185 walk around well over 200 pounds, cut to 185, hydrate themselves back to 200+, and are 6'2"-6'4'-ish. Silva, Sonnen, Marquardt... He's just too small.

No one is saying GSP would ever have a size advantage at 185, but it won't be an impossible task for him to fight at that weight. GSP is a HUGE WW. He can be at 185 comfortably, without putting his body through hell to hit the weight, like a dude cutting tons of weight (Rumble, Teibau, Alves) has to to make their weight.

But GSP has no trouble cutting weight, nor any noticeable effects during his fights. You say Frankie Edgar? I say, GSP.
