You know it is a lot.
The UFC was in a tough bind.

1. Brock wanted to make 2 mill for 30 mins of work at Wrestlemania
2. Brock wanted to take some time off
3. JDS would have to wait a year for his title shot
4. JDS needed cash.
5. The UFC needs to introduce the Welterweight division to the mainstream.

They check all of these problems off. Brock gets a huge undisclosed amount to coach TUF, and gets to have more time off while the UFC still gets to cash in on his brand value.
JDS gets a big payday to host TUF as well as another big pay day in the shares of a PPV fight vs Brock (which are always the highest buys of the year).
The UFC knows that Brock will draw millions of people to watch the show, which means millions of people will be exposed to high octane style fights in the WW division.

All this and we get to see a fight that will be huge. JDS vs Brock is a good fight, and one that JDS has a good shot to win.

It's the perfect storm.
I can't wait for this to start.

^ You know welterweight is 170, right?

The same division they have done 4 times previously. The division is well established already, and the talent pool is going to be very thin.

Not good for Brock.....he needs to work on his standup fulltime......forget about wrestling and coaching TUFF.

Oh well.....he's gonna get paid at least, But JDS will destroy him.

Damn. Fail on my part.
I was thinking Boxing, where it's 140's.

You gotta think Brock is not going to want to get into a ton of drama on the filming.

I think he's actually shy and quiet and will be quite the same during filming.

We'll see though.

I hope JDS has good KO power while laying flat on his back. Because thats likely where he is going to spend the vast majority of their fight.

I honestly think JDS face will look about like Mir's did by the end of this fight.

Really? JDS just has to stay upright for him to win this fight, plus there's no guarantee that Brock can keep him down if it gets that far. Dos Santos has incredible hips.

When have you seen Dos Santos on his back?

If Brock can put Cain there, he can put JDS there.

And I'm not really confident in JDS jits either. This is anecdotal, but it seems to me as if Nog is quick to compliment his students as very good or great jits practioners. However whenever I have heard him or any member of Black House talk about JDS jits they always just talk about how he's "improving" and so forth. Never really heard any ringing endorsements.

My initial thought that was JDS gets his face hamburgered, and I I haven't backed off that thought as of yet.

It's been years for JDS, which means he's really good at keeping his fights standing, even against some really well-rounded guys. I see a lot of Chuck in JDS and like Chuck, I'm confident he'll get off his back quickly.

Gonna be a great fight.

Cain is an elite level wrestler. JDS has no wrestling pedigree. Apples and oranges.

Possibly, although off the top of my head I can't think of even one guy who has tried to take him down, other than a half dead Big Country. :D

I like JdS a lot. Write this down... JdS has the BEST TAKEDOWN DEFENSE at MMA World, this guy held Roy Nelson takedown just buy tightening his legs, this guy is a beast. Tough matchup, unpredictable. I have lots of curiosity to see JdS playing Minotauro's BJJ.

Challenging Lesnar is important to him to prove his worth, I'm not sure if he is prepared to face a Title Shot. Winning Lesnar would be perfect, but waiting 1 or 2 years if he lose wouldn't hurt him at all.

I just don't see any way JDS stuffs that Lesnar takedown.

I give it a 0% chance. Lesnar put CAIN on his back. He put Carwin on his back.
