Well, IMHO Martin beat Shields and Sanchez. So just based on my opinion and not fight finder, he's 6-1 at WW with a win over the number 2 ranked guy and a top 10 4p4 fighter. Plus wins over Condit and (IMO) Sanchez aint no joke.

Admittedly GSP would destroy him. I think he gives any of the other "top tier" guys a good fight, although Kos is probably a bad matchup as well.

You are definitely right that Rashad probably didn't make some absurd statement though, I see that now.

160K + their purses!?? (+sponsorship for a main event on broadcast TV). Awesome. I'm guessing that Kampmann was living a pretty meagre life previous to this. So that's a serious boost of cash. He might be glad he didn't finish it in the first.

i don't even think the UFC makes much of a profit on these free TV gigs if any. their gate was less than $500K. then again they must get some revenue from being on television. but their main purpose is to give fans free cards and open the market to new fans who don't yet order ppv's. and they advertise ppv's like hell on these broadcasts.
