Unfortunately, we're going to see more freakshow fights with Zuffa having a very large piece of the pie. There are scraps out there and the smaller promotions want them and need to drum up immediate interest in their product and a fight like this is exactly how to do it.

Anyway, Shamrock should win by submission.

This is incredible. If Shamrock beats him, will some people still claim that Toney was a legitimate opponent for Couture?

I didn't anyone claimed Toney was a legitimate opponent in the first place.

Oh, we had some good debates about that topic at the time on here for sure.

Anyway, read on sherdog this may end up being one of those striking/mma hybrid matches. If so, Shamrock will most likely get ktfo, if he has to stand with Toney for more than 10 seconds

If this is a normal MMA fight, assuming Ken isn't a complete and total moron, and that's certainly up for debate, he'll have Toney tapping to a vicious leg sub in under 1:00 for sure.

Shooto rules - with only 30 secs on the ground til stand-up - rumor is.

Ken can't need money this badly, can he? 30 secs is a lot to ask, even with Toney flailing like an upturned turtle. But maybe not. If those are the rules, this is a pick 'em and a cool fight.

Shamrock has to pay UFC lawyer fees because he lost that case to them a few years back, put him at least a few hundred grand in the whole. Probably didn't manage his money well and can't get back on his feet.

What a ridiculous fight.

Was bad enough that Toney got to fight in the UFC in the first place, now he gets to fight another HOF (albeit outside of the organisation). Urgh.

Fair point though REDDzone - if Shamrock needs the cash he might as well do every freakshow he possibly can.

Freakshow fight, so up for criticism already, but I hate even more the fact that it has these gimmick rules where they can only fight for 30 seconds on the ground or whatever.

So silly. I mean, we see this sometimes. Would there ever be a fight where the fight is put on the ground after 30 seconds standing? Just stupid, go back to boxing or better yet, just retire, Jabba the Toney. And Shamrock, dude's gonna keep doing this until he destroys himself even more than he already has.
