My hesitation is the fact that Munoz was outstruck by Maia and Grove on the feet, if he couldn't get it to the ground, he's done for quick.

But TDD and inability to sweep all that well are Anderson's weaknesses, and with the aforementioned great gnp (2nd best in UFC after Bendo IMO) Munoz can theoretically finish any fight in an instant. Stylistically, it would be a good match-up for the challenger.

This might be a moot discussion anyways because Sonnen has a great chance of beating Silva in the rematch.

In no way is he two shots from the title. He's won 4 straight and 7 of 8. He has back to back wins over the #6 ranked MW in the world (would be #3 or 4 w/out Munoz loss) and #13. Who are all these MW's with better recent resumes than Munoz that would be delaying his title shot?

I'm with you bern and I think it could be intriguing assuming Silva doesn't really only have a few fights remaining. It also depends what Munoz shows up to me. Sometimes he ragdolls fools and sometimes he seems to telegraph his takedowns so much but with your point about Silva's tdd being a weakness, he may well get ragdolled.

Is the Sonnen fight official yet? If something happened such that Munoz would have to go through Sonnen to get to Silva, I don't think Munoz would win (despite beating Sonnen in wrestling in college).

It seems pretty obvious to me that they need to make Silva vs. Sonnen and then make Munoz vs. Bisping (once he beats Mayhem) for the next shot at the title.

Yes I agree with Munoz fighting one more contender before getting a title shot. After all Sonnen/Silva II is most likely a lock for early next year

Andy has four fights left and he will ruin Munoz, who in turn, is not at all ready for that kind of competition. Beating Leben is not that step. If he could beat winner of Bisping/Miller or Sonnen, then we're talking. He's getting there, but I still say two, min. one fight to get in there with the GOAT.
