Trout's hiding suspect durability imo, he's not that slick and I think Mayweather's accurate punches would eventually stop him. That arm punching crap he was doing vs Canelo would also get him countered all day
The last person Mayweather legitimately KO'ed was Hatton. Not that stupid Ortiz one.
The last person he legitimately knocked down was Marquez.
He's not going to all of a sudden be KO'ing a legit junior middle weight with a good chin. He just doesn't hit that hard anymore. Out of all the possible potential match ups, the only boxer that I can see him KO'ing right now is Khan.

Trout's chin is highly overrated, he got one timed by Canelo who is an accumulation puncher, got buzzed by Cotto multiple times and was scared of D Rod's power. A fight vs Trout would basically look like Guerrero part 2 with Floyd constantly throwing good shots and Trout fighting back with slaps. I'd pick Lara and Jermall to ko Trout too

Re: The One: Mayweather vs Canelo (Sept 14)
Nice boxing weekend here in Sin City. Lots of drama, and nonsense also.
I caught each of the 4 ppv fights and got a little bit of recap action in me.
First match with the two journey-man guys. Both fought their hearts out... lot's of action and tons of effort. The quality of refs are underappreciated. Probably the best fight of the night as far as action goes, very offensive and lots of hunger in this match Cano and Theophane put on a show.
Ishe Smith... c'mon man, trying to be Mayweather but skurred and with little to know intensity. He threw a few good punches, but it was borderline unwatchable. The ref really killed that fight, just terrible... what was that all about. Molina gave a valiant try in making this a match, but Smith was unwilling in all aspects.
Garcia is a man with an amazing left arm but is as dirty as they come. The head drop/forward motion to setup the low blow hip punches was ugly. He can throw an hooker-cut like few others, but man that was some garbage fighting. Weeks was clueless out there. When RSG would dip that head in and low blow Matthyse, he always claimed that he was pushed there... Old school BS tactics, but there are few guys that can connect with the left hook like that. He really took advantage of the right eye when that closed shut. He is a fighter, just a poorly officiated fight. Hats off to Lucas, he is truly a man in the ring. Never questioned, pouted, or complained... just kept coming forward. He was a joy to watch out there, and an inspiration of sorts.
Kenny Bayless has to be the top third man in the ring right now. I joke about him having eyes like Bernie Mac did, the guy is totally focused. I appreciated Money taking some punches, yet being careful not to lean back in the corner. Floyd Jr. is a machine... Sr. did a great job of getting him set after round three. It was a clean display of domination. Kudos to Cannelo for trying to stay in the fight and not falling for the pysch games early by Mayweather early. He never was able to keep up after Money got into pot shot mode... He really displayed amazing speed and intelligence. IMHO, Pacman never would have stood a chance. I talked with Zab Judah back in 07' when the hype was getting crazy. He convinced me back then, that it would have be a major mismatch... no doubt now.
A good friend who is linked up, stated 'even though Floyd Jr is 36, he looks like 26 because he always trains... never smoked or drinks, and maintains his weight. No crazy cutting pounds... hard work and dedication, and probably learned a ton watching his father messing himself up. Best ever, that is what I think Floyd Jr deserves.

Um, isn't that how most of Floyd's fights play out? Didn't he just do that to Canelo?
Canelo and Cotto are harder punchers than Floyd and both gave grown into junior middle weights. All I'm saying that Floyd isn't going to suddenly start KO'ing or winning via stoppage against a fighter like Trout when guys like Canelo and Cotto couldn't do it.

It's also just good genetics and a good constitution. Cos, yeah he doesn't smoke and drink or put on weight, but he also keeps insane hours, has three hour training sessions, and lives with all sorts of gambling adrenaline. The sleeping patterns especially is not something that keeps you young. Recreational drinking, let's say, would be far less damaging. And the cortisol from that much training and the gambling thrills would take its toll on most of us. But it doesn't on Floyd, cos he's just built differently.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

All good points, except maybe the sleeping habits interjection. Surmising that humans benefit from dusk till dawn living, is a bit of a reach from my perspective. Although it might be considered a societal norm to have regular patterns with rest and activity, I think nature shows us more definitive evidence. Mammals, in general, have varying degrees of perceived optimal patterns in this regard. Predators generally have very erratic daily activities, and Floyd Jr. is one of those.

Re: The One: Mayweather vs Canelo (Sept 14)
stuff is too easy for floyd.. canelo has potential though.
As long as floyd is active he leaves ZERO hope for stardom to all these cats in the boxing world.
Floyd destroys everyone when it comes to skills and smartness in the ring. IF he had knockoutpower he would be in the mix for GOAT. cocky personality or not, give credit where its due

CJ Ross Resigns
C.J. Ross, the embattled boxing judge whose draw scorecard from Saturday night's Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Saul "Canelo" Alvarez junior middleweight championship fight ignited a firestorm of controversy, has stepped down.
"I will be taking some time off from boxing but will keep in touch," Ross wrote.
"She did not get too in depth, especially without a DVD of the bout," Kizer said. "She referenced it was round-by-round scoring, and that overall she thought Mayweather outperformed Alvarez."
