So does this fight change your guys opinion on how others would do against Bones?

Glover? Cormier? Anderson?

Not really. Except for maybe Anderson, the other guys don't have the tools to utilize Gus' gameplan. So far, sticking and moving (and measuring up similar to Bones) is the only way to make things interesting. With Anderson's age + the recent loss/unfinished business at 185, I don't have much interest in that fight.

Maybe Cormier could outwrestle him, maybe Glover could put him away after a quick rush... these are all still options, neither guy could adopt Gus' gameplan as effectively.

I disagree that Gus gameplan is the only viable option to beat Jones though. Doesn't Gus being able to take Jones down make you think Cormier and even Glover would have a chance to do so.

I don't think we can sleep on Glover's takedowns and grappling.

In the sense of applying what we've learned from that fight and applying it to future opponents, I'm not sure there's much to work with.

Yeah, for sure... there might be other ways of beating him, but Gus' gameplan was the most successful thus far (and far and away the most successful). We've seen Bones crush competent grapplers (if not quite at Cormier's level) and we've seen him eat shots from Gus (who might not have the power Glover has). Cormier's boxing and Glover's wrestling, as you mention, are wild cards for me that would keep me interested... but he's fought guys just like them before and not really anyone like Gus.

GAH, these guys need to fight more, especially Cormier. It's impossible to know if he's improving or maybe even declining.

Seems more content to call out guys coming off losses than actually fight.

I think ultimately this is the right fight, but I don't like fighters dictating who they fight. The UFC, not Jon Jones should be deciding who gets title shots.

That said, I'm not a fan of these immediate rematches. Let Gus go out and get a win or two and earn another title shot. Gus vs. Cormier would be nice.
