What a main event and upset. Performance of the year by TJ. If you still don't like the lighter weight classes after watching that main event you need to get your brain checked out.
Also, Gus has got his work cut out for him. Gotta beat Jones(no easy task) then face possibly the best wrestler in MMA after that

Whether it shattered along with his chin or along with his leg, doesn't matter. Weidman was destroying him in the second fight as well, he went night-night in the first round.
I actually think its probably better for him in the long run that he had this injury as opposed to tearing his CLs a la GSP. But still, it was so gruesome and PUBLIC, people are going to be a little leery of throwing too much dough on him until seeing how he performs on that leg.
Look at it this way: If the Spurs sweep the Heat in the NBA finals this year, does that make the Pacers the favorite to win the East next year? No.
Weidman dominated Silva, but no one else has beat him.

Do the Spurs also break the Heat's legs as they are leaving Miami? If not, the comparison is not apt. Seeing someones leg bend at a 90 degree angle a few months back WILL factor into betting odds, certainly.
Maybe the dude comes back and he's good as new and gets back to that status, but old fighters + gruesome injuries + long layoffs = uncertainty. Obviously this will be contingent on his opponent, he could have had his leg amputated and would have still been a slight favorite over Bisping.

God I hope so.

I do think Silva is done... but I'd like one fight to be sure. I think Vegas would feel the same way.
The age + mileage + leg injury. ****, the dude sits on a plane for however many hours coming from Brazil for appearances? How often does he do this? It's definitely not good for his knees or legs, even in first class.

MMAHour Listen:
Dillashaw says he would fight Faber if the money was right. Also said he would fight Mizugaki, Assuncao, or Barao next. Said he wasn't sure if Barao rematch made sense because he dominated him. Says Barao is too slow, he is way too fast for him. /paraphrase
Is it irrational to hope that Dom comes back and earns a shot at some point? I never realized how young he was. Its one of those, don't know what you get til its gone things for me. He was very fun to watch, and he's only 28 now? His resume is pretty damn good already with wins over Mouse, Faber, Jorgensen, Benavidez x2, Bowles, McCall.
It would be kind of funny if he came back and beat TJ. Just pwning Team Alpha Male every step of the way.

Cont: Duane is on next.
He almost seems to want the Faber/TJ thing to happen. Brought it up a few times, says it is inevitable that they will fight. Ariel asks who gets the better of their sparring, he sort of pauses to figure out how to answer and then says "TJ beats up everybody". Then reaffirms it confidently that TJ beats up everybody and asks if that is really a surprising answer after the performance TJ put on against Barao.
Also kind of a sad irony that a cynic like me notices: Duane states his goal as to create a martial arts center in order to improve people's lives. Of course he slurs his way through saying it, a result of his own martial arts experience.

It will be hard to do, but they gotta go faber vs dillashaw.
That's a big fight, it'll draw big interest and it'll make cash.
Faber is a company guy, and he took a title shot on a couple of weeks notice.
They should be scrapping the Bruce lee Roy fight, and doing the money fight. Considering how little interest the ufc is drawing right now, it's a good idea.

Faber would smash Bruce Leroy, but can he beat Ayahuasca Bruce Leroy?

I'm also holding out hope that Cruz can come back and challenge for a title. I didn't realize he's still only 28, so that's encouraging, but at the same time, I can't really consider it as a possibility until he's actually in the cage, in a UFC fight.

FWIW there was an article released TONIGHT that said he is 100% sparring/rolling/wrestling again. I realize we have heard this before but they also said he is looking to compete within the next 2-4 months which is sooner than I would have thought.
