I'm not even being facetious when I say this...I hope Mark Munoz is okay. This is a guy who used to be in title contention...the whole "would he fight Anderson" thing came up a few times. He loses badly with a very bad stoppage to boot against Weidman. He gets severe depression and nearly eats himself out of his career.

He comes back and dominates Boetsch who has look terrible himself and immediately starts talking about avenging the Weidman loss. He has since been hammered by both Machida and Mousasi.

Tim seems to agree with me:

If Mousasi was sincere in wanting to fight me (which is crazy talk because I am a horrible matchup for him stylistically) I am totally 100% down for it"

Just have to hope now that its a main event for a 5 round tilt. UFC seems to like both for headliners so that seems possible if not probable.

Hes just not a top level middleweight. Did he even touch Weidman, Lyoto or Gegard in their fights? I mean with strikes......

Munoz has a big coconut head, but a weak chin. He's been KO'd twice in training + however many times in the cage. He converted to MMA far too late and aside from a couple fights, never put his power and wrestling together.

Have to think that spending ages 25-29 being a wrestling coach really held him back. If he hit the game three or four years earlier, who knows.

I would always cringe when Muñoz would suggest a fight against Silva or a re-match with Weidman. The guy just isn't a top tier guy and he never has been. He's be a pretty good gatekeeper though.

And back to Muñoz, he seriously needs to work on his MMA grappling. For someone who keeps getting hyped up because of his wrestling credentials, guys are always having their way with him inside the octagon. Even Leben was putting him on his back for a time (before he got smashed that is).
