Mayweather would ruin Paq. I love Manny, one of the more entertaining fighters, but Floyd is next level. Look at Floyd vs Marquez, it was a glorified sparing match, he was bored toying with him. And a few months later, Marquez knocks Manny out brutally.
While the Pac Man gave us more classic fights, Floyd is and was the better fighter, and really, I don't see how the smaller, slower Manny would have much of a shot unless he landed a huge punch early.

You can address it all you want...aint gonna change my mind

I've been a fight fan for a couple decades, I've seen enough Floyd and Manny fights to make my opinion, and unless Manny could catch him (and Floyd's Defense is just brilliant), i can't see a victory for him.

Fairly uneventful fight up til now. Manny will win easy on points.

Announcers are Pacquiao haters. Even the scorer called them out. I don't think its wet.

LOL at the trainer. "he's going to put Manny to sleep soon, watch" *down goes Alergi*. Why is this fight still going on? That's 6 knockdowns. I'm all for the no 3 knockdown rule but even in the 70's the Fraizer vs Foreman fight ended after 6 knockdowns.

I'm a huge boxing fan as well. Although the sport is dead these days, I'm still a big fan. Much like the NBA, boxing is all about matchups and styles (I'm sure you know this).
Marquez was getting abused by Pacquiao. Marquez just caught Pacquiao with a punch. Paq always likes to go for KO's. That's how he's always been and this time he got caught.
As far as Floyd, Paq is a matchup nightmare for him. What makes Floyd so good is his ability to know what's coming his way and when it's coming. Paq is a nightmare for him because no boxer has ever had the combination of speed and power that Paq has.
Combine that with the fact that Pacquiao is very unorthdox because he throws punches from different angles and in combinations that a normal, traditional boxer, wouldn't throw. You add in those things plus the fact that he's a southpaw and that's a huge problem for Floyd.
Floyd has been ducking Paq for years because he knows Paq is the one guy that can beat him. It would hurt his brand and his undefeated record. I understand it from a business perspective but from a boxing perspective, he's scared, plain and simple.

Well said. I have my own theory why Floyd wouldn't fight Paq before or now, but might fight him much much later:
Before - Floyd would have gotten killed fighting Paq at his peak 4-8 years ago. That was a faster, younger, stronger and more reckless Paq who wouldn't have given a damn about who Floyd was. This is the main reason why Floyd didn't want to fight Paq, he knew he would have lost to a prime Paq.
Now - Floyd is still threaten by Paq, while Floyd can still earn money fighting lesser fighters he doesn't want to stop earning easy money if he fought the biggest prize of all, that is Paq. If Floyd loses, then that is it. All the legacy and the money stops. Paq is showing some age now yet Floyd still doesn't want to fight him.
Much much later - Floyd's only chance is for an older, slower and more damaged Paq after a few more heavy hitting fights, where Paq can no longer rely on his athleticism to counter Floyd's stubborn non-athletic defensive style boxing.. If Floyd loses then he'll have enough excuses to say that Paq did not beat a prime Floyd.

^^^ I agree with this. I can just imagine Mayweather will only start calling out Pacquaio when Pacquaio starts to show a big decline.

Pretty uneventful fight. Pac really looks like he's lost a bit of speed and power. He's still dangerous, but not as he used to be (as expected since he's older). Even with that though, Rios/Bradley/Algieri really weren't a match.

Re: OT: Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Alergi
Well, agree to disagree. I agree that styles make fights, and I don't think Mayweather would have much trouble with the much smaller fighter. Would be a good one, although it would have been far better 5 years ago when they started talking about it.
Mayweather has 2 fights left on his deal, I don't think he fights after that, so next September is the likely date that they fight if they ever do. Rumour is they will fight in Cowboys stadium, but with boxing, I don't count on it happening until the contracts have been signed.

How did the ref not address the wetness in that corner?? That was Pac's corner too. Was the slop there from a previous fight? Algieri is unbelievably mobile, the guy needs traction.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

I've been a fight fan since Thomas Hearns fought Sugar Ray and Marvin Hagler. still doesn't make your bias correct.

Re: OT: Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Alergi
Floyd reminds me a lot of Sugar Ray. there was a time when Marvelous Marvin was just too much for him, and Sugar Ray avoided him like plaque until Marvin was old and broken to finally fight him. even then he got help from the Refs and the Vegas power to be, because everyone who saw the fight including me thought it was Hagler's victory for sure.
legend has it even Sugar Ray was surprised with the decision.
Pac and Floyd are carbon copies of Marvin and Ray.

I don't get it from any perspective at all. What made all the greats, great... was that they fought each other. It wasn't about wins and losses and records. It was always about stepping up and fighting the best guys. No matter how great Floyd is, or may be, he will never be one of the best in my mind because he ducked the best opponent of his generation.
