Rockhold has already called out Machida. Really risky for him imo. Kind of like Miocic/JDS, may just knock off a contender.
That said, Machida dusts Rockhold like that and I'd be fine watching him fight Weidman again. He had life in the 4th and that was a great fight.
Machida is 3-1 at MW with two of the fight ending by brutal KO or TKO in the first round (Munoz/Dolloway), a sound beating of Mousasi, and a competitive but clear loss to Weidman.

Kick to the liver, and maybe a rib put that fight on ice soon... Wiedman is a solid matchup, Rockhold doesn't have the reflexes or the wherewithal to mix it up.

Yes, he's got to fight someone good if he wants to get to a title shot. If it he got that fight fairly quick and won, that could put him pass the Souza/Romero winner for the next title shot (with Silva fighting Diaz there's not really another big name available). In fact, they should put Machida/Rockhold on the card with Weidman/Belfort and Souza/Romero on 2/28 if they can get Machida to turn around that quick.

Dana has already responded and made it decently clear that Rockhold/Machida will be made.
I still think Rockhold will be ready in case Vitor pulls out.

Re: UFC Fight Night 58: Machida vs Dolloway (Dec 20 - Brazil
Glad I only spent like an hour total skimming through these fights. If that.
Cummins looked pretty good, but I want to see him take on someone he can't just control with wrestling. OSP or Jimmo on the low end, Bader or Davis on the higher end.
Barao looked fine, but he should be behind Cruz and Assuncao for a title shot. Keep him busy with like Manny Gamburyan or something for now. Could put him in a fight with Assuncao on the same card as Dillashaw/Cruz (assuming that's still happening? Haven't we been heading that way since September, but still no date?), but I wouldn't blame Assuncao if he turned it down. He'll probably have to fight someone though, if only to stay busy.
Machida handled CB with even more ease than expected. Rockhold vs. Machida will be really good. I'm down with that.
