Great fight. A lot to lose/gain for each dude.

Glover has lost two but they might be the only two fights he'd lose - you could make the argument that on a given night he could take it to just about everyone else. But he's sitting at 6th or something in the rankings. This is a big opportunity for him. And risk...jeez, 3 in a row would be devastating.

In Germany, BTW. So probably shouldn't expect too much else.

69 heh heh heh
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

And Gus is hurt and the fight is off. Par for the course. Title fight between Joanna and Penne takes it's place as the main event. The UFC has to do something more than just belly ache over all these injuries. It is out of control.

With Glover you mean? The obvious thing would be for him to fight Bader, who is also without an opponent at the moment. But, that doesn't make a ton of sense with Bader on a 4 fight winning streak and Glover coming off a couple losses. There are really no perfect answers here. If it was up to me, I think I'd have Bader wait and fight the winner of DC vs. Rumble for the next title fight. Then have Glover fight someone like Manuwa or Maldanado as the co-main on the Berlin card.

It just dawned on me that you meant with the overarching injury issue. I think the UFC needs to commission a study into acceptable and unacceptable training methods and then make sure all the gyms are privy to the information. So many of these gyms are in the stone age as it pertains to their training methods.

Once they have done this, they can look into possibly punishing guys in some way for repeatedly getting injured and getting injured by training in unsafe ways. Even though it would be a PR disaster, they may want to consider getting rid of health care for fighters between fights and only covering them for the actual fight. This way guy will train a lot smarter.

I caught a ton of heat for saying while giving the fighters health insurance was a step forward for MMA, it would also cause a lot more fighters to pull out of fights than ever before. People said that was crazy, but we are far enough away that it has pretty much proven out exactly like I said. Maybe the best action is to hit the undo button on that. Possibly add more to fighters purses to offset this health costs while also giving them more incentive to fight.

cammo, you may as well just brace for it to get worse before it gets better. Guys will be both injured and "injured" more as PED testing increases.

I read on twitter that 9 of 13 ufc events in 2015 have had their main/comain affected by injuries so far.

23 main/comain changes YTD.

Insane.

We are to the point where I think all big fights should have a backup fight on the same card with guys who can step in and fill in in case on an injury. And those guys should know that going in. That could solve a lot of problems so we don't end up with fights like Cerrone vs. Makdessi.
