didn't look like Condit had a lot of steam on his shots, but that inside elbow was a great finish to the short quick combo, and once he had Alves hurt, the diversity in his strikes and pressure and positioning and just veteran savvy was able to put him away. Nice fight.

Condit didn't look like he did in his peak tonight (e.g., his fight vs Kampmann). And maybe I'm a Condit homer, but there is still a small part of me that thinks if you threw any random WW in a pit with him with no rules, he'd come out on top every time vs anyone.

Also I do not like Alves but he is a tough dude, props to him for holding on after his nose bone got knocked back into his skull.

That Jimmo fight was the one stain on an otherwise great main card (didn't want undercard). Condit looked great for his return fight. Also, despite Condit giving the standard give-me-whoever answer in the cage, I liked that he said he wants the guy who has the title during the press conference. Quiet mouths don't get fed.

Only really watched the co-main and main, but Jesus, they were great.

This might be one of those things that doesn't mean anything, and with all the events these days I have trouble keeping them straight, but I can't remember a better co-main/main combo.

LOL! Condit's walk-out music. Dissonant, screeching feedback?

Best tune since Hideo Takaya.

REDDzone wrote:Who was the Lentz coach who was on the jre talking about how Lentz would dominate Oliveira? Yea, that's not playing out so far. I thought that guy was a quack anyway, tbh. CBR, I think we discussed that episode.

I have a soft spot for MN fighters, but Oliveira is a bad man.

edit: Maybe I'm thinking of Dolce and mixing up the other trainer guy who was on the jre.

It would have been Dolce re: Lentz. But Lentz did actually look really good, evidently has developed both his skills and his mental game. Cos, yeah, not tapping from the guillotine for so damn long is crazy. Good Lord.

The quack was Parsons. Nonsense about cardio development, I remember. He really was selling Patrick Cummings. (But so have others. I know I bet on PC his last fight believing what I'd heard from Parsons, Schaub, etc.)

Did you listen to that strength & conditioning coach on Rogan two weeks ago, Nick Curson? RDA, Provodnikov's coach. God, these guys just have no shame in self-delusion/promotion.

Yea Lentz turned it around, I made my post around the time he was getting beat on in rd 1. I honestly thought it could have been stopped then.

I didn't listen to that guy on jre. Maybe I will tomorrow though.

Listening now, its been pretty enjoyable.

One thing I did find interesting though. He is defending RDA from PED allegations from the likes of Bobby Green (I didn't know Green and RDA used to train together, btw. That makes those allegations more interesting if that is true.). Anyway, he was just saying how he was blood tested three weeks out from the fight. There was actually a story at the time with the Texas Commission announcing that they would NOT be testing prior to the fight (and no results were ever released). It was big news at the time because this was kind of in the thick of all those positive tests.

Here is the article from back then about how Texas will not be drug testing until the night of. If you don't recall the podcast, this guy is claiming that RDA was blood tested several weeks prior. I wonder what the deal with that is.

The other thing I'll say about these S&C guys that annoys me is how they all pretend like they don't know anything at all about PEDs. Maybe its a self-preservation thing because some idiots will take it to mean that they use them or their fighters do, but the obvious feigned ignorance just annoys me.

I'd like to see Condit get a rematch with one of Hendricks/Woodley.
