Watching Magny take the back and show good takedowns and top game just makes me appreciate all the more what an effing wizard Demian Maia is on the mat.

Silva may have been hurt. He didn't look close to himself last night.

Could be. On the other hand Silva has been on a win one, lose one pattern since 2011 when he entered the ufc. I know he broke that pattern a few months back against the corpse of Koscheck on short notice, but he may have just regressed back to the mean here.

But he is always an exciting berzerker, even in those fights he lost in the UFC. Last night he looked boring and uninterested. He was either hurt or his head wasn't in it for some other reason.

Oliveira is 25 and has fought: Edgar, Swanson, Cerrone, Jim Miller, Jeremy Stephens, Max Holloway, Nik Lentz(x2), plus other tough guys like Hioki/Elkins

Holloway is 23 and has fought: Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Dennis Bermudez, Cub Swanson, Cole Miller, Charles Oliveira, and a few other tough vets.

Just don't see the benefit of throwing a guy like Holloway in the fire vs a vet like Edgar. Frankie should get a shot anyway, imo. UFC should build up their prospects more, I said it in the Holm/Rousey thread.

Edgar is already fighting Jeremy Stephens, so this isn't happening.

Source? I see an article posted an hour ago saying Edgar is open to Stephens or Holloway. Plus I think Stephens is fighting Bermudez already, no?

Stephens beat Bermudez on the Connor/Mendes card.

Looks like Edgar vs. Stephens isn't official after all from what I can find. Thought it was. I'd rather see Edgar vs. Stephens and Holloway vs. someone else.

Would Edgar vs. Stephens be on the Aldo/Conor card? It should be.

I know that. They were going to do the rematch because of how badly Stephens missed weight. I certainly wouldn't award him with a number one contender fight after that bs.

The tuf finale would either be the day before or day after the Conor card and it sounds like Edgar will be on that, whether it be against Stephens or Holloway.

I seriously doubt it's a #1 contender fight for Stephens. More like throwing Edgar someone he should beat.

Glad I only skimmed through this one. Too bad the main event ended the way it did.

I'd watch the Cirkunov fight. That guy is a real talent, trad martial arts, freak strength, aggressive.

it was reaired on the regular prelims.

Apparently Oliveira had a torn esophagus.
