Wiki says it's U.S. vs. Europe so it's possible Faber got a better team.

Faber seems like he's genuinely looking to develop his guys whereas Connor is looking like he's making appearances on the show to just to raise his profile. We've seen Connor wear comfortable slacks and such but from the previews, it seems like every scene, he's wearing some uncomfortably tight clothes just to look good. He doesn't look as invested as Faber

One of the guys on Faber's team, Austin Springer, is from the Portland area. I first saw him fight as an amateur and he's one of the better prospects we've had coming out of the area in awhile. I think he used to train with Rick Story and Mike Pierce, but not sure what pro team he's with now. Last I saw, he had his own gym in Vancouver, WA.

Edit: Looks like he's fighting Steven Siler at Titan FC 35 on the 19th.

Spoiler:
He lost the fight and Dan M. almost let him die... one of the latest stoppages I've ever seen, he even collapsed untouched against the cage and the fight still continued.

A little disappointed in Baghdadi, considering the hype... maybe he's the McSweeney of this season, thrown on there because of the possibility of Anderson or Machida coming by to guest coach.

The crane kicking guy (Le, I think?) looked great.

U.hall is just so damn likeable.
The Irish cantaloupe killed me.

'Are you related to Channing walburg? Cause you're delusional'

Connor had a nice joke about no ring girls, so hall should walk around the ring and shake his chin.

You can tell he's a cool, funny guy under the whole wwe persona he has to put on.

I loved the 'Wizard'. Seemed really self aware, and had zero bro in him. I love people like him that are the master of one thing. He's the Cody M of the knee bar...except he's way more rounded out as a fighter.
Coaching the coaches on how to apply technique...that's awesome.

Also, you have to think Faber could see this as a great opportunity to bring in some blood (and bank) to his gym. It's a nice recruiting tool that's for sure.

Zero bro indeed. Hall is the guy I've been talking about in the bjj thread. Probably my favorite instructor in the world, so great at breaking down concepts. He is with tristar, one of the world's experts on 50/50, and obviously very good at the heel hook.

Love his entries lol.

This tuf is 155 right? Hall is probably closer to 135 than 155.

Is that what he typically fights at?

I think he is probably at 145. I haven't followed him super closely, but most times when a super high level black belt like that (adcc medalist, etc.) is fighting on the local and regional circuits, you can't really tell what their ideal weightclass is based on their past fights because its so hard for them to get fights that they just accept whatever they can get. My guess is that he's a featherweight although in the ufc who knows.

One of the things I like about this season is that the coaches aren't fighting. There's some posturing, but for the most part it's just a lot of prickish jabs...which I love.
Faber and Conner are really enjoyable to watch. Even the philosophical differences in how they live their life was cool to touch on. 'I fight so i'll never have to wear a suit" vs "I fight so I can afford to wear a suit". I love it.

Very good season so far. First one i've enjoyed off the bat in a long time.

Yes! I've never seen it taught Ryan's way...super clever guy. I can totally see him pulling this off if he ever has closed guard.

Check out his arm triangle theories as well. One of my best submissions now.

Well since you guys talked me into to watching this some...

I guess I can't complain too much since this is literally a reality TV show, but did you catch the "Dana gets to throw out 2 quarterfinal winners from the Tourney" rule? Entertainment, not sport.

Hall pretty much invented the 50/50 guard. Seeing him apply it in MMA and dominate is beautiful.

I think its pretty hilarious that so many gracie "self defense" guys have been bashing sport jiu jitsu for years precisely due to 50/50 guard, inverting etc. ("Dudes just scissor with eachother"). Now Ryan Hall comes into mma and subs two guys super quick by inverting into a 50/50 guard and HH fools with the quickness.
