I feel like it's the other way around. Joe seems like he's always trying to prove himself to Schaub and I always felt like it feeds into the awkward Rogan/Callen dynamic. Joe completely disregards anything Callen says about fighting to the point where Callen goes out of his way to try and show he's knowledgeable about MMA and ends up saying something dumb, which makes Rogan pull back even more, which then makes Callen step out even more. It's a vicious cycle.

I think I'd like an Eddie Bravo/Schaub 2 man fight companion more. They're both really knowledgeable and respectful. Avoid all Rogan/Callen awkward moments and avoid all of Rogan's "guyz stahp talking over each other!!! :( "

This is me over analyzing everything as I always do, but I do think there is a LITTLE bit of what you are saying going on. I think Joe likes to pretend he is a fighter. I've heard on 2-3 occasions when he had a guest who knew nothing about MMA refer to him as a "fighter" or a "fighter guy" or whatever and Joe never corrects that assertion at all. So I think Rogan likes to kind of make it known around all fighters that he knows fighting, going down the rabbit hole of hypothetical striking or grappling sequences that could have happened or a fighter could have chosen or whatever.

I don't see it as brownnosing though. Schaub is literally arguing with Eddie Bravo in two separate occasions in the latest fight companion (one was about scoring Bader/Latifi rd 1, the other was about running a gym - LOL @ Schaub arguing with Eddie about that btw), and even though the argument was pretty much a two man show, Schaub continuously seeks validation from Rogan who isn't even participating. "You know what I mean Joe?" "You see what I'm saying Joe?".

I think Schaub would stick to Rogan like one of those things that attaches itself to sharks if he had the chance.

yea I forgot about those Schaub/Eddie exchanges. It gets weird sometimes and I don't even think they're really that passionate about 1/2 the things they argue about, I think maybe there's just too many people and they argue just to get their chance to talk. I have the same problem with NFL and NBA studio shows.
