I'm with Cowboy on this. It's a bit ridiculous to join a new crew and then call out of the mainstays for a fight. That being said, it seems like Cowboy and Wink never really saw eye to eye ( 8-) ) on since the Jackson-Wink merger and with Jackson stepping back and Wink turning the place into a puppy mill. I can see why Wink would take the side of the new blood and someone that is paying him.

It's tough to know what kind of arrangement they have but it does seem to me like Wink made a business decision to take on a younger guy, who's bringing money in (paying for training, I gathered), hasn't hit his peak yet and if successful could bring in more money going forward while Cowboy is a bit over the hill at this point in his career and won't have the longevity.

Winkle has always come across like a huge douche. I think it was when he was on Rogan that he kept mentioning how he is a "capitalist" - he kept pushing that concept with some weird attitude. Well, at least it now seems he's true to his word. The man is looking for dollars above all.

Not to mention the drug use of many Jacks-Winkle fighters. There were cases that the trainers could simply not have missed. Like the EPO use (Ali B) and guys like Alistair, Mir, JJ etc. (not to mention suspects-as-heck Rashad, Marquardt, etc). How do you take money from clean fighters (Kennedy), all the while helping to maintain a status quo of dirty fighters?

Cowboy just never disappoints. Probably my favorite fighter to never win a title. I remember his and Jamie Varner fights back in the day in the WEC. Quick side note, damn did WEC have some great shows back in the day. But Cowboy is just so god damn entertaining, he never has a boring fight, the dude fights 3-4 times a year and isnt afraid to fight anyone. Then outside of the cage he just seems like a funny entertaining dude.

Greg Jackson and that camp used to be the elite of the elite camps. But talk about a fall from grace.

I wonder what ol' C-4 is doing these days. His career exploded and then imploded before ultimately retiring. Cowboy had the last laugh in that rivalry. But he's like hold my beer.....I have another cave to dive in.

Rose Namajunas still struggling after Conor McGregor's bus attack

UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is traumatized by April's bus attack in Brooklyn by Conor McGregor, according to her coach, who said she "doesn't leave her house."

Trevor Wittman, head trainer at Grudge Training Center in Colorado, said during an appearance on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show on Tuesday that Namajunas -- whom Wittman said is from an abusive background -- has been coming to the gym and "will go out and do a hike where there are no people."

...

Five months later, according to Wittman, there is no word on a next title defense for Namajunas, who is physically healing from a compression fracture in her neck and emotionally healing from the bus attack.

The promotional campaign for next month's fight between McGregor and bus attack target Khabib Nurmagomedov makes liberal use of footage from the Brooklyn incident. Wittman doesn't think that's right, saying it's "in poor taste" for the UFC to hype up an incident that physically injured two fighters, Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg, forcing both out of fights that weekend, and was emotionally traumatic for one of the fight promotion's champions.

I still don't get why she doesn't use her magical prediction powers that she uses to detect danger that she and Pat swear she has to predict this whole thing and not get on this bus. She needs to meditate in a crystal cave to regenerate her powers, apparently.

She is the most sensitive person in major mma. I guess I know what it means now when she said her winning a title proves anything is possible. Because out of the cage she's scared of her own shadow.

My guess is her anxiety is going to triple this weekend after seeing Andrade fight. What a nightmare matchup for her.

I'd like some proof but it wouldn't shock me the UFC would ask her for that

IDK, seems a little weird for me. If anything the UFC seems to stifle fighter's personality/backgrounds/uniqueness. This is the company that wouldn't let their first and only sikh fighter wear his turban to the cage, e.g. There are many other examples of this that I'm blanking on ATM.

My guess is it doesn't present the "warrior" image as much as war paint for example

Culturally it's cool to have a sikh fighter in a turban but I don't think it adds to the war narrative.

I feel like you are assuming their motive though. Would the motive of a request like that be to feed into a "war narrative" or to appeal to an American Indian audience? I don't know, but that was my initial assumption. That's kind of the reason why I don't understand the Sikh decision.

I remember cammo arguing at the time that the Reebok deal would make the sport look more professional. And that has definitely been the case. That said, it's made the sport a lot more boring as well. The whole roster, excepting a few colorful standouts, are just a huge amalgamation of boring with no real way to stand out.

Duke4life831 wrote:Its a joke of a show, which sucks to say cause I actually really like those 2. But just imagine PTI with crappy over the top production. Whenever I watch it, it reminds me of the episode of It's Always Sunny when they start a podcast and just go overboard with the sound effects. They cant let those guys talk for more than 30 seconds without having to just throw in loud music or noises. Plus it really puts a cap on those 2 guys personalities.

Not saying this would be the best idea, but like a small Open Court type setup of more just open flow discussion of topics would be great. Let Chael go off on his crazy Chael rants, then let Ariel play the Ernie type role of throwing in his input and also keeping Chael in check. Even that would be better than just another crappy PTI ripoff.

More and more technical issues by the show. This week they did all phone interviews because they literally couldn't even get skype working at all.

I think it was Uriah Faber who asked Ariel about change being tough and Ariel said something along the lines of "you have no idea" or something like that. I wouldn't be me if I didn't read too much into everything but thought that was telling.

GSP is looking thin. Almost thin enough to think he could make 155...

GSP is going to go for the first guy to win 3 belts. I assume he gets the winner of Conor/Khabib.
