So who gets the next heavyweight shot? Cain just beat JDS, destroyed Bigfoot, Overeem just loss to Bigfoot, Werdum is locked into his TUF match, Cormier doesn't want it, anyone else would be a reach imo...
JDS III might make the most since.

Werdum is the best choice. Screw that stupid TV show. He's beaten Fedor, Big Foot, Overeem and made Roy Nelson look like an amateur. That last Overeem fight would have been ten times better had he not fallen to the ground every single time the wind blew. I thought he was getting the better of Overeem while standing.

The response to that "problem" is to gain more weight, not to get scrawnier. It hasn't exactly worked out for Cole Miller. He lost to Nam Phan at 145 because a stiff wind would have blown him over.
Anyways, Pettis has faced guys like Bendo and Cowboy, who are among the top few biggest cutters in the division. When he faced Lauzon he was on par with him size wise. And he was MUCH bigger than Guida. I don't think size is an issue for him at 155. He's only really lost one fight, and it was against the aforementioned Guida, who he was much bigger than and has since dropped to 145. The other 2 he struggled against the most, Bartimus and Stephens, also now fight at 145.
155 is his proper weight class. Cutting normally, he's average sized, and his speed/kick combo is a terror for opposition. This is a mistake if the UFC allows him to go through with this. He's just making the decision because he's getting antsy for a title shot. His brother, Sergio, got antsy for a call from the UFC, so he dropped down to 125 for a fight, and regretted it after his worst performance. This would be another short-sighted, impatient decision from a Pettis boy. He could kick Nate Diaz' ass easily in the interim, then get his rematch with Bendo in due time. Eventually at HIS weight class he can still fight Aldo. Aldo wants to move up soon anyways because of the hard cuts.
As far as who gets the next HW shot, Zuffa better back up the Brinks for Cain/Cormier so they get over their hang-ups about fighting each other. That fight makes far and away the most sense. They could retire off that fight alone. It should be worth it for them.

Agreed susan.
I can guarantee that Werdum wants that Overeem fight back. That was peak Overeem aura, and Werdum looked good but kept flopping around. It was psychological because he wasn't getting tagged or anything that I can recall.
Werdum's resume is looking better and better too: Last few fights, discluding the Overeem fiasco are wins against Russow, Nelson, Fedor, Bigfoot off the top of my head. Hell even if Cormier did want to fight Cain, Werdum may still be the most deserving.

Holy hell!
With even just the booking set, Aldo/Pettis is the greatest featherweight fight of all-time already.

That was all intimidation too. I remember thinking that Werdum was really hanging pretty well in the exchanges, but he'd gone into the fight with the strategy of taking it down and with assuming Alistair to outrank him on the feet, so kept backing out of them. Alistair's striking did not actually look that great...and it hasn't since he's been in the UFC. He was so sloppy against Brock, it was unbelievable. Never worried about a jab or a lead punch, he'd just bounce straight in and claw his hands out for a clinch.
Now that guys won't be intimidated by him - won't see him as a destroyer, I think he's in real trouble. Not to mention his brain has been shut off yet again, for like the 8th time in his career. Or 10th time maybe even.

McCorkle went on a huge rant about roids on the UG. Here's a snippet:
The rest is kind of meh. In case you are interested though: http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm ... e=1&pc=175
Don't think its weird to post there, because underground doesn't compete with realgm, if cpt wants to remove the link though, feel free.
If a pro athlete tested positive for steroids it's because he was taking steroids. And it's not something he bought at GNC and thought it was legal. If you can buy it at GNC, it's because it doesn't work.
And his doctor didn't accidentally prescribe it. And there weren't false positives on the tests.
Do any of you actually believe that 90% of athletes in all professional sports are clean, and 10% that are juicing are the bad apples spoiling the bunch?
The ratio is probably quite the opposite. Are you telling me a 20 year old kid at the NFL scouting combine bench presses 700 lbs naturally? Probably not.
All of your Olympic athletes do too. This isn't an epidemic, it comes with the territory and always has. The UFC gets a bad rap for steroids because of the violence associated with it, but somehow football slides right by.
I have no idea how the NFL's testing policy works. But if any of you believe the whole league isn't gearing up you're crazy. You'd have to just to be able to recover from the weekly damage you incur.
I say legalize everything, and let the chips fall where they may. Sports aren't about fair competition. It's entertainment. And what's more entertaining than two chemically enhanced monsters going at each other?

Oh no, please don't steal all five regular posters away.
There's gotta be something behind this 90% figure. He's not the first to say it and he won't be the last. I just don't get why some guys are so flippant about how easy it is to circumvent the rules. It's almost like it's encouraged and/or they're daring commissions to actually do something about it.

Some day, I can see it now, this board will get the most traffic on realgm. Those "five regular posters" will have their avatars on a Mt. Rushmore on the top of this page. The pool will have at least 100 contestants (and I still get 2nd place on the regular). Cammo's lists will be renowned all across teh itnernetz.
The current Raptors board traffic will be but a footnote in realgm history.

And to the Rescue show, first thing that came to mind was "Undefeated Prison Fighter" Christian Darrow's huge gym in Jersey. (?)
