Hahaha this is awesome, he totally punk’d out Izzy here, this fight makes no sense from a match making perspective but I’ll by lying if I said I wasn’t excited for it , and I think Yoel beat Costa anyways.

Thank you Clutch0z24

Re: Non-threadworthy MMA Rumors/Quotes/Tweets/Etc., Vol. 5
So they are testing out a new system that allows fans and fighters to know the results of each round
I like that, the obvious problem is that fights that are up 2-0, or 3-1,4-1 will be defensive and try to have limited engagement. I guess the counter is the other fighter will be going balls out to counter it
It’s an interesting wrinkle, i think I like it though,

They used to do in boxing, and, IIUC, it led to insane stalling.
Just fire these **** judges. Or make them justify their scores, in detail, after the fight in the case of outlying scores.

Yeah I'm not a fan. Gives a ton of advantage to the fighter that's ahead. It's a lot easier to just defend/not engage, take the foot off the gas and stall than it is to mount intelligent and effective offense.
Fighters who are confidently ahead and take the foot off the gas completely isn't super common. With this new system, it would just incentivize that fighter to stall if they *know* they are ahead vs they *think* they are ahead.

Don't forget how insanely large the octagon is, too. In most boxing rings, 147lb+ fighters have barely any room to move where their opponent isn't in range. And it's a square, so you can get caught in the corners. Whereas, in the octagon, you've got so much more room. I don't know the actual dimensions but you can see guys actually able to do short sprints during their warm-ups. If you wanted to just run from your opponent, you'd have no problem.

I like Bolden. He's got good length and athleticism for today's NBA which helps with the shot blocking and has the shooting to be a good stretch 4/5.
Good job JJ, now let's see him play

I just think there needs to be more judging. only having 3 leaves almost no room for error. What's the problem with having 20 judges? Pricing?
I just think you reduce your margin of error, and judges that are clearly outliers multiple times need to be re-evaluated.

I also think having more educated judges or educating judges would be huge. Judges don't even know what they are looking at most of the time. They just look at aggression, cage control and big punches because that's the easiest thing to understand.

Who's buying?
Sean O’Malley offers inside look at UFC 248 training camp for $5
Sean O’Malley offers inside look at UFC 248 training camp for $5
Fans pay $5 to access a four-part short-form documentary that offers a “behind-the-scenes confessional” during O’Malley’s camp, per a release from his management firm Ruby Sports and Entertainment. For $225, one fan can get “worn and signed” training gloves along with the series, which launched on Tuesday.
“It will show where my weight is at, what I’m eating, what my schedule is looking like for the next few days, and how I feel mentally getting back in the Octagon,” O’Malley stated in the release. “After my fight I’ll break it down and go over it with you guys and answer your questions.

That's the twitch streamer in him I think.
Anyway, I've replaced O'Malley with Chase Hooper as the nerdy white guy I root for (after Cole Miller's retirement).

Who would have thoughts that a 145 lb pajama wrestler with a dadbod and a nervous tic couldn't get a fight in the UFC?
I heard an interview with him earlier this week....in the time between fights he finished his college degree and created a new grappling instructional. So at least he is figuring out ways to fill his time.
