People will think I'm crazy, but Tito can beat that bellator lhw champ McGeary or whatever. I just can't imagine Tito being subbed.

This. People are saying it's the worst main event for a major org ever, but I can't disagree more.

What are people talking about? I mean the embarrassment happened at the fight announcement. The fight itself was everything bellator wanted.

The guy who may fight again won: check
There was a momentum change: check
There was a KO: check

Seriously, bellator is absolutely thrilled. Twitter exploded. About bellator.

Ken Shamrock will be fighting Jose Canseco by the end of the month. He's going nowhere, even with the big chunk of money he got for throwing this fight.

That fight looked like it took place in a quicksand pit. If you watched that in slow motion, it would play in reverse.

Yea and it still blew Tito/Bonnar out of the water.

Before you pile on too much, realize that both have more fighting experience and credentials than your boy CM Punk. :D

We'll see. I don't think he's good. Newton beat him.

But on the upside, Punk is the only one of the three that will actually train for his next fight.

Lol that's a weird argument to make. Ken was literally living at a gym for the last few months. Literally.

Just saw it. Not sure what to say, it is what it is. Sucks for the dude who got screwed. Pitbull still very wobbly after the bell. Artificial interventions alter another result.

Yeah, the choke

People on twitter are convinced its fixed. Ken gets the choke, let's it go. They get up, Kimbo wins. I guess Petruzelli was screaming at Kimbo after, saying he tapped. Now bellator can set that fight up. Perfect scenario for everyone.

I don't profess to be an MMA insider and know the inner working of the sport, but that was my immediate reaction that it was clearly fixed. Shamrock had him so locked him on that choke, there was no way anyone was escaping that much less come out of without any residual effects from it and with the energy that Kimba had. I mean, c'mon.

getting choked is not very draining, it is more draining on the person using the energy to sync in the choke.

You could see there was no squeeze to that choke. You could see in the lack of tension in Ken's body. Cos he's old, unskilled, or it was a work??

That was the most embarrassing display of MMA that I have ever seen. Which is exactly why I set my DVR.

But if you have the hold on correctly, the dude should go out, no? What do you think happened here?

just rewatched the fight. so Shamrock was doing a trachea choke. Which is essentially crushing your throat. More of a pain move. This type of move wont put you out. It may crush your throat but you wont go to sleep from it. He couldnt get enough leverage because he didnt get his non choking hand behind the back of kimbos head, rather he was holding it on the top of kimbos forehead.. Still sucks for kimbo but you can fight it, as you can see kimbo kept reaching and grabbing for the off hand which stopped the majority of the pressure.

The ideal rear naked choke will have your both arteries on the side of your opponents neck blocked. One side by your bicep, and the other with the side of your forearm. This should form a V with your elbow under your opponents chin.

hopefully that helps. I am not the greatest at explaining things. I am more of a visual demonstrator

Just watched, Ken has his arms open too much on the choke, it looks like it would have been more wind than blood when Kimbo was on his stomach so basically Kimbo toughed it out (he wouldn't have went out anyway, not a blood choke). Kimbo is fighting the non choking arm to alleviate pressure, not letting Ken get it behind his head. Ken made a huge mistake when he moved from top to bottom, it was done then. To Kimbo's credit, he was turning into the choke and putting his own back to the mat which is the correct defense. When Ken lost the choke, he should have transitioned to mount but he didn't and Kimbo powered to his feet and that was the beginning of the end. I think Ken tried to hold onto the choke too long, he waited until Kimbo escaped fully when he should have felt himself losing it and abandoned ship from the back to the mount.
