Great win for Paul, what a way to redeem himself after the first lost to Carlos. Didn't expect a 1st round KO though.

Since Mayweather is gone (my fav ) I say the ideal WW matchup would be the winner of Cotto/Margy vs Paul Williams to unify later this year. I would rather see Mayweather vs Cotto as every sane boxing fan would but right now thats not happening even though I still think he will come out of retierment to fight Cotto, because the money and the baggage that fight brings is too much for him to pass on.

:noway: Sergio Mora, I can't believe it

It's amazing how one action can change my perspective on this guy. I didn't hate him on the contender but when he turn down the Taylor fight it was on. First off he didn't deserve the title shot but the way he backed out was unforgivable. "Contender" don't turn down title shots.

Forrest is done as far as I am concern. The Quartey fight was a gift.

Another upset...Sechew Powell got TKO by Deandre Latimore. Nasty... it is never good when you are looking up after a uppercut. He was the number 1 contender.

Just a side note

Nito Bravo (contender contestant) used to work as a maintenance man at my former work place down in Tucson. Real nice guy and pretty hard worker ( I won't get into the detail but I don't think he was making much sadly) . When he went on the contender show, he kept it pretty quiet, nobody knew were he was. Once the news broke that he was part of the contender, he was back at work. He didn't talk much about the show even when it was his fight. This was roughly the time I moved to Tempe and didn't really get a chance to talk to him....

First ever woman's PPV tonight. IDT the promoters have actually made match-ups that are all that great. February's ladies night card on FSN looked better.

Hallback vs Garside should be really good, well, but...uhh...yeah, it's tough to watch Hallback - she's very awkward. Garside's from B.C. - woot! Holm vs Sanders could be boring, Holm running. Olszewski vs Moreno might be good but neither is a powerhouse.

GoFightLive will have it.

And Pavlik went from little visibility to being a big name almost overnight. Good thing for him Taylor had built such a well respected name.

I have been punched with an uppercut, and your head doesn't just snap back unless you totally don't expect it or if you are almost out on your feet.

Pavlik became a big name due to his KO power... KO's bring people in and I have to give him props for his simple yet effective style that the avg person enjoys.

He was a touted prospect. ManualRam on here had him pegged well before the Miranda fight.

With PBF "retired", Pavlik's the most sport's most eye-pleasing athlete - just awesome to watch his style. Mijares maybe next, or something.

It looks like Juan Diaz Vs Michael Katsidis (HBO) and Nate Campbell Vs Joan Guzman (SHO) will be on the same date, September 6.

Which will you all be watching? Guzman-Campbell is for almost all the marbles but has the chance of being dull while Diaz-Katsidis is a FOTY candidate

Kinda of a crummy BAD card in my opinion...

Berto should fight a legit fighter... a Zab Judah or Kermit Cintron.

Eh... Heavyweights... I hope one of these days we can see a Tau/Ikibuki type match.

yeah i agree. Its a shame a guy like Witherspoon is our next big American heavyweight. If he loses like i feel he was, America is back down again and Arreola is now Americas next heavyweight who happens to also be Mexican.

Something to think about. You all notice the majority of heavyweight fights/fighters just clinch? Seriously i dont see any talent outside of Wlad who actually uses the ring. The other fights for the most part are hit hit hold, hit hit hold. 12 rounds of that unless a hard shot is landed

I wonder how tough Rodriguez is. I think Berto will break him down and stop him late.

He lost to Baldomir and some club fighter...

He is a big step down from Estrada...

Should be a quick KO.

My understanding its for Mayweather's WBC Belt. So Berto assuming he wins will be a champion.

In other News, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr's next opponent is Matt Vanda who's best win was over Yory Boy Campas or also known as Luis Ramon Campas

Well the typical WBC still has not stripped the belt from Mayweather... so it is still an interim but for all intents and purposes it is for the real belt given that Mayweather never did defend it vs a welterweight.

JJC chavez will crush him in my opinion... I am still amazed at how big he is compared to his dad.

You think Chavez Jr-DLH would be more marketable than DLH-Cotto/Margarito?
