Once this semester is over and done with. I work about 25 hours a week and I'm trying to learn as much Physics & Computer Science as I can in the meantime. Doesn't leave much time for things I actually care about (like BJJ). :/

If you're gonna be doing leafy greens, the Omega 8004/8006. No question, best value. $285 for the 8006 (steel chrome) on Amazon right now. Steep but there's a 15 year warranty (that they honor well, I hear). Put a nexttag on it and wait for it to drop, as it often does.

Shields vs Woodley on June 15th, probably in Toronto, probably "UFC161".

Why juice instead of blend? Just out of curiosity.

I do green smoothies pretty much daily. I want to juice but there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews of juicing/blending and pros and cons to each. I'd be curius of what you guys think before investing in a juicer because they are so expensive.

You can't eat 10+ carrots/beets/radishes a day, nor a large amount of the more fibrous greens like kales/parsley. Well, I can't. I don't want all that matter in my stomach.

I blend spinach w/ ginger a couple times a day, for sure, it liquifies really smooth. Add a small amount of kale to that.

When I train I usually go to 9:30 or so, don't like to eat a ton of food after that, so I green smoothie a few hours beforehand (I can't eat before training all night, I'd vomit the first knee on belly I took :) ) so I can eat a really small dinner later. I do a cup or so of spinach or kale whichever I have, 3-4 carrots, 2-3 strawberries, some broccoli, some berries, baby tomatoes, and orange juice or whatever juice I have to liquefy it a little. Basically anything I have at the time.

I think that may be part of it. You named only veggies. I get my fruit in my smoothies a lot, besides breakfast the smoothie is the only time I get my fruit as opposed to veggies which I get lunch and dinner as well. I think the high fast dose of sugar from the fruits may be a downside to juicing if you do use fruits like I do.

Yeah, 9-5 jobs are really no good for exercise/practice and eating. I'm the same way, don't want to eat an insane amount before bed. But also have to eat like a sparrow all day so I'm not bloated or lethargic for practice.

I've never ever been one to hate on ufc just to be different (see sherdog's worldwide forum), although Dana annoys me sometimes. I love the ufc. I never miss an event, and I purchase a good amount of the payperviews. That said, if they keep cutting good fighters just to appease the just bleed folks, I have no issue throwing most of my times/energy to support another promotion, whether that be bellator or wsof or whoever scoops these guys up.

Agree completely. I'm almost at the point where I want the company to fold and someone competent to come in and pick up the pieces. Some kind of natural promoter who can get the mainstream to respect him, someone polished, someone with resources and a track record that can't be ignored yet is always forward thinking.

Oh, hey.

Despite occasional cheat meals, I eat relatively clean. I have to say though the biggest change for me came when I went from 2.5 or at most 3 meals per day to 4-5 meals per day. That's optimal for me at least.

Also, some people (mostly athletes) swear by it, and I'm sure its effective, but I was paging through Robb Wolf's giant infomercial book on Paleo and only got about 1/6th of the way through before I tossed it out due to the sheer amount of bro science and outright intentionally misleading claims littered throughout the "science" portions. Parts of that were just cringeworthy.

Also, please tell me you are up on this TLI stuff. This spiraled from one isolated horrible incident to just an absolutely bonkers story.

Who knows the authenticity of these things, but supposedly the police are involved now.

Am I a sick bastard for hoping somehow someway the rest of the kumite gets released before they haul Lloyd off or he skips the country or something?

For some random story about Lloyd Irvin and http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f12/jo ... t-2402011/ for a statement from a high level bjj guy who trained under him, in case anybody else is interested. This **** is unreal.

I believe it for sure. It's crazy to think that this has only been 2 months. This **** is just going to continue to get worse and worse for LI.

And the end of page 3 on that Schultz thread got me laughing so freaking hard. Saying that one dude is a bad guy because he reaps the knee.

And this is pretty MMA related. Dom Cruz, Phil Davis, Gustafson, Michael Chandler Brandon Vera and Mike Easton are/or were all affiliated with this dude. He's been in the corner for most of those guys as well.

This is a full on cult like thing going on here. The story from the guy who bought his DVDs and whatnot were really ugly. Read for yourself but this story is looking more and more like the Penn State football scandal. Thankfully the internet is around and these things came to the surface far faster than the PSU stuff did. (if it's all true)

Which mma guy came out and said they didn't have anything to do with Lloyd? Dom? I know that Vera and Easton are very, very close with Lloyd. I can't speak for the rest although I do know they are affiliated with him.

I can't believe Lloyd was on top of the world just a few months ago. Even Lloyd haters were giving him props for the kumite. And he had recently got his first black belt world champ didn't he (didn't DJ Jackson win no gi worlds?).

The funny part is that you can trace this back to that first medal chasers video. The guy late for practice being relegated to the basement or whatever. People jokingly said it was like a cult then. Hell, it wasn't a joke at all as it turns out.
