Fortune was by far the more impressive decorated wrestler making his debut. Those were some of the most vicious knees to the body on the ground I've ever seen, and he had a stand-up game. Bellator might want to think of fast-tracking him, Lesnar-style. WWE apparently wanted him and Bellator's HW division sucks. They need somebody to stop Kongo from holding almost the entire division down by the shorts.
That card got a lot less interesting after Daley-Anderson fell out. That could have been fight of the night. Yeah, that was some kind of haymaker by Ayala, who is the upset king of Bellator. Awad fought foolishly, getting baited by Ward, who is a tool, but always fun to watch. Sort of the Mike Perry of Bellator. McGeary didn't do a bad job of fighting off td's actually, although he could have timed some blitzes better for the chance at the ko (knee still affecting him?), but beats me what he was trying to do on the ground not fighting for closed guard and then doing something with it. He was hanging his legs back limply, not in any position to submit, and allowed Davis to pass almost at will. Going to have to go back to the drawing board and not just try to get subs from the element of surprise and being unorthodox. Phil was blocking the inverted triangle from side mount with his knee and then grabbing full mount from that soon after.
Koreshkov-full cartilage Lima rematch next week in Israel. I'm looking for that, but that's about all the card offers. Bellator makes some weird match-up and location choices.
