Twitter was going crazy with the Maia memes right after that fight. They were pretty good.

And ya Im kind of thinking he is already ready for a higher profile fighter. But if they cant get a higher ranked guy to agree to a shorter notice fight (I believe the plan was another quick turnaround for Khamzat), I can see them tossing Maia to the wolves. It could be another fight where he doesnt take a single significant strike.

they want Khamzat to fight again in Dec well see

Colby was winning until he got caught pretty sure that's what the judges scorecards said anyways.

He wasn't the best 170er on the card tonight.

He's irrelevant.

You can hate the dumb schtick he has, but no denying the dude is an elite 170er.

He's top 4, no doubt.

Usman broke his jaw and nothing about tonight's fight makes me think he'd do any better in a rematch, Burns would be an awesome fight but I think Burns has better standup and Chimaev is the biggest talent in the sport since Jon Jones.

I actually met Colby and was super impressed with him but dude, Chimaev is uhhh next **** level. Colby beat a washed Woodley. Tonight is Chimaev's night.

Chimaev is a great talent for sure but it doesn't always work out once you face top talent which he's yet to do - Still not sold we haven't even seen him in any trouble yet and have no idea what his chin is like etc many questions remain yet before we put him as one of the top 170ers - He's heading in that direction though!

Talking Colby/Usman/Burns reminds me of talking about Shogun/Evans/Machida when Jones was on his accent. They're all irrelevant, Chimeav is going to be champ for a lonnnnng while.

Should Khamzat go down to 170? He's big enough at 185, has a big frame and is only 26, can still fill out a bit. Gerald's in that 25-30 range at 185, I'd give Khamzat someone in the 15-20 range like Kevin Holland or Brad Tavares, if he runs through them then he should just commit to 185 imo.

It doesnt sound like the cut is all that hard for him to make. But I agree that he should focus on 185. But hell if he wants to continue to bounce back and forth is fine with me. The more this guy fights the better for us fans.

170 easy. He'd run into freaks like Yoel/Costa at 185, at 170 he's got GOAT potential.

Ya if he's not diminished from the cut, thinking about it more I change my mind lol. The impatient fan in me wants to see him against top guys as soon as possible and the Maia fight would instantly get him to fringe contender status, Maia's still ranked what #7-9 range? If he crushes Maia he's basically like 2 more wins after that from a title fight lol

Duke4life831 wrote:No clue. Woodley/Thompson 1 was fight of the night. Then they had their rematch and it was very boring, very little action until the 5th round. Woodley/Maia might be one of the worst performances in a title winning fight in quite some time. I believe it set the record for least amount of strikes thrown in a 5 round fight. He finished Till in the 2nd, but dont know if that was just more because Till was being aggressive and inexperienced. Then we got the 3 straight losses he is on now.

No clue what happened between the 1st and 2nd Thompson fight, but that was basically the massive switch in style.

Woodley/Thompson 1 wasn't that much different, with Woodley against the cage and getting out thrown. Woodley just managed to actually land one of his big shots and on another instance get a take down off of Thompson's kick which let him deal some damage on the ground.

Awesome performance by Colby.
Just pure domination. Woodly wasn’t in control at any moment that fight.

It really should be Jorge vs Colby for the title shot and Burns Vs Usman, but Jorge won’t take the Colby fight imo

Colby is hilarious, i cant believe trump actually called him. its such an obvious act but the president either doesnt care or is ok with it because its ultimately makes him look good.

Colby doesnt have great speaking skills but he has a great character for the WWE.

Its hilarious that trump and his mutant sons don't realize it's not flattering to be props in someone's witless schtick

I think its a smart and very profitable schtick. People pay to watch him lose or watch him win, but they do pay. Money Mayweather was great at that as well.

When you bring a MAGA woman over to your mom's place and she sees you're really into comic book characters, is she turned off? Or do you guys just laugh and bond over the fetal alcohol syndrome that brought you to this end?
