Dana needs to get out the checkbook and make Frankie vs. DJ happen at 135. I need that fight in my life.

Interestingly enough, I think both came out and stated their walk around weights last week. I think Frankie said 160, and DJ was under 140. DJ too small for that fight at this point I'm guessing, plus why the hell would you fight Frankie Edgar when you could fight Ray Borg or Wilson Reis? lmao.

I don't remember the details of this, but the last two PPVs did terribly. I read somewhere that you would have to go back to the UFC 50s to find such terrible buyrates back to back. Something similar to that.

Worse than the DJ headlined cards?
The UFC wants to get more TV money in their next deal and I doubt they even make much money on PPVs that only get 100,000 buys. Seems like going to 4 PPVs a year is the way to go.

Here's the estimates.
UFC 216 – 120,000
UFC 215 – 100,000
UFC 214 – 850,000
UFC 213 – 125,000-150,000
UFC 212 – 167,000

Those are some ugly numbers. To be fair, they really stacked 214 and promoted the hell out of it. Also Jones. The other cards imo were as good quality wise but I can see how they were cards that only hardcore fans would shell out dollars for.

I feel like the UFC spent all their effort promoting UFC 214 and Conor McGregor.
UFC 216 had some good fighters, but they weren't in good fights. Did anyone think that Kevin Lee, Ray Borg, or Walt Harris had a chance? The fight before those fights are between 2 fighters I've never heard of who don't have Wiki pages. And people have gotten really sick of interm titles that don't mean anything. I mean, DJ is setting the record for most title defenses of all time, and he's not promoted and is the smaller guy on a poster over a BS interm title?

I mean, yeah, Ray Borg isn't the easiest guy to market, but couldn't you promote the hell out of DJ going for the record? And Borg talking about how he's going to ruin his night? I didn't see any of that.
Then you have 215, but the UFC spent all their money promoting Ronda instead of the other women in the division. You'd think they could hype up a rematch.
I guess the cancellations and everything hurt them, as well as Jones destroying Cormier and then testing positive. I could see how fans feel ripped off after that fight. I got really hyped for Jones-Cormier 2 and while I didn't order a PPV, I did go out to a bar with a big group. Watching the UFC or telling other people they should watch it after that whole ordeal just feels scummy. I didn't watch 215 or 216. Like, why should I pay money to see underpaid athletes get brain damage from someone who cheats and uses PEDs? It's the reason why I don't want to see Cyborg fight.

UFC must be getting sick of Khabib turning down fights. Tony says Khabib wouldn't sign, Khabib says Tony wouldn't sign, ufc matchmakers came out and confirmed it was Khabib who wouldn't sign.
Khabib tells Ariel Monday that UFC is not offering him Barboza. Tuesday UFConFox twitter account comes out and says they and Edson are waiting for Khabib to sign.
lol.

Wow. That's a tough fight to take on short notice. Props to Bisping for stepping up.

The UFC needs Joe Silva back. Woodley is saying he will only fight in 2017 again, if it's verse Nate Diaz. I don't think Nate should get a tile shot over GSP, Wonder Boy, Lawler/RDA winner.

Too many fighters are dictating their fights lately. It used to be just the very top couple fighters could influence their opponents, but lately it seems like pretty much everyone is turning down fights and dictating terms.

Re: Non-threadworthy MMA Rumors/Quotes/Tweets/Etc., Vol. 4
I blame the UFC. They stripped away all the illusions of a meritocracy by doing stupid rematches and letting guys jump the line. The fighters have had enough because there are no real rules as to why or how fights get made. And the whole sponsership thing, including the "taxes" they levied pre-Reebok, just proved the UFC didn't give a **** about the fighters, they wanted as much of the pie as they could get. Now the fighters want to dictate what the pie actually is because he UFC isn't going to take care of them.
