God I'm so happy someone else feels this way about Chandler. I haven't listened yet but have thought he is a douche for a long time.

An hour and a half in, there has been nothing but him talking about his strategies for self-belief / confidence, his burgeoning greatness (in business, "wealth", and MMA), and visualization. It's straight out of a Wealth Expo talk. I can see him being introduced by Pitbull AKA Mr. Worldwide.

I get how athletes have to have insane self-beliefs. But, also, there are variations. I mean, I listen to every episode of Michael Bisping's podcast, and he's brash and confident. But he is also not that serious, and he is definitely having a laugh through it all. That's way preferable to this entrepreneurial self-talk that Chandler has going on.

Also, he's very far from MMA greatness.

Gus kills Rockhold standing.

Hopefully this sets up GSP Khabib for the end of the year show. Let GSP get down to 155 before pushing him onto Khabib and build this thing up. Let Khabib fight who the **** ever in-between now and then.

Ya, I'm guessing Khabib fights one around Sept so the UFC can build the hype train, and then have that super fight for Dec.

The Ideal situation for them would be Khabib vs Mcgregor in Sept, that way if Mcgregor wins they are lined up for Mcgregor vs GSP New Years, and if Khabib wins, it's massive exposure and raises his name value exponentially for the fight with GSP on NY.

Ya Gus is going to have a field day standing with Luke. Luke is just so stiff in his standup, Gus will pick him apart. One thing I dont get with Luke is why doesnt he got back to AKA, work non stop on his wrestling and became a ground fighter. The dude has a tremendous base on the ground his ground game is legit, he just never uses it.

Ya the UFC is clearly making a warm up fight for GSP, I think it is for GSP to see if he has the conditioning to do it after the cut and for the UFC to see that he can hit the 155 weight before putting him a championship fight. GSP-Nate on the same card as Khabib-Conor. That thing would be one of if not UFC's biggest event. Load up the rest of the card with some of the up and comers in the sport so their name gets a big boost going forward.

You said he could not make 155, or he could he would have done it years ago because it is easier, and that he was using that as a scapegoat to avoid 185. He then competes at 185, said it was far too hard to bulk up to that amount to be competitive, and healthy, Now he's rumored to be going to 155, and you complaining again lol. It's ok to admit you are wrong, you're worse than a fanboy, you're just hating for hatings sake now lol.

It's been 6 months...and we are talking another 4 for this fight. How long do you think colitis flare ups last?

I believe it takes 1 month to clear a colitis flare up, and weightloss is a side effect.
The issue he was having was trouble maintaining weight gains and packing on the pounds, which would make sense with a colitis diagnosis, as weight loss is one of the main side effects. Dropping weight and fighting at a lower weight and getting a proper, clean diet would actually work effectively for a colitis diagnosis. The problem would come if he had a flare up and had to go on antibiotics, or got sick.

So he's fighting Nate at 155? Or is he fighting a 155er at 170, because that's what it sounds like. I'll admit I was wrong when he fights at 155, or he doesn't fake an illness to avoid Robert Whittaker again.

I get fighting Conor, I really do. I don't think it's a challenge for GSP at all, but he'd be stupid not to do it, both from a money and a notoriety standpoint.

Fighting Nate at 170 is just trying to avoid guys that can beat him though. :dontknow:

The fight being discussed is at 155. My guess is if it happens, it happens at 155 or a catch weight of 160ish.

My mistake then. That's a good fight to jump into the 155 pool, and I don't think he'd take Nate if Khabib or Conor would jump right into it, so I don't think he's doing shenanigans here.

Sounds like this fight is a longshot. I thought it was actually in the works, but its just something Dana said he would like to see happen. Ariel says its far from done and he would give it less than 50% chance of happening. He says he doesn't think GSP takes it because he doesn't gain anything from a legacy perspective because he already beat the bigger Diaz brother, and he said he doesn't even think Nate takes it because it would rub Nick the wrong way.

So yea, I/we should have probably read the article before starting to sh*t on GSP for taking the fight lol.

EDIT: Ariel's take was from Monday and I just listened today, so not sure if this has possibly progressed since then. I'll believe it when the fight is announced either way. According to Ariel, the UFC just really wants this fight as a hail mary because they can't get the women's 125 title fight signed, because Nicco Montano is pulling a Germaine de Randamie and running and hiding from Shevchenko like GDR did to Cyborg. Obvs that last bit is me editorializing.

What is the backdrop on the Nicco story? Is she just scared or is she trying to get in more training? Injured? I didn't look much into that, but you know the UFC is pissed. That's two of their female champions that refused to fight. They were spoiled by Rhonda, who would fight 3 times in a night if she could.

Who knows? I mean she won a title because she was willing to do TUF despite the fact that she's clearly not the best at her weight. Then she just goes silent. Ariel reported that the UFC has been getting frustrated with the fact that she won't accept a fight despite the fact that Shevchenko has signed and is waiting, and Nicco lashes out on him and says ACTUALLY I JUST HAD SURGERY and called him a fake journalist and all this...then it comes out that they wanted her to fight several months from now and her "surgery" was getting her tonsils removed or something stupid where the recovery time is typically around a week lol.

I mean, you never want to call a fighter scared as you lick the Cheetos off your fingers from your couch, but the parallels to the GDR situation are pretty crazy. Everyone knew the "title" fight was a sham. Everyone knew who the uncrowned queen of the division really was from the start. And in both cases, the "champ" kept delaying delaying delaying in order to avoid the fight. I'm guessing Shevchecko would be more than -1000 in that matchup.

Nicco has six total fights. Shevchenko has ~18 plus god knows how many kickboxing/muay thai matches. Is it possible there are some jurisdictions that wouldn't even sanction that bout? LOL.

I mean NYSAC wouldn't sanction Felder/Khabib and that's by far a more competitive fight than Shevchenko/Montano.

It sure wouldn't be a good look for the UFC if their champ wasn't deemed a worthy enough fighter to fight their challenger.

Maybe the smugness isn't due considering this was apparently Dana just flapping his gums and reflects no interest on GSP's part.
