Man, I heard about the Thug Rose/Pat Barry documentary on youtube but finally watched it last night.
Honestly blew me away how good it was.

Not surprised that ESPN is giving a show to Chael. If Im the UFC Im going to try to push ESPN to get Chael on TV as much as possible and not just on the ESPN+ app. The dude is just so damn entertaining to me for some reason.

Re: Non-threadworthy MMA Rumors/Quotes/Tweets/Etc., Vol. 4
Continuing the weight cutting discussion from a page or two ago, and to offer a counterpoint to those in favor of keeping the current setup...
One thing that I've thought was interesting lately is the success of weight missers. Don't quote me on this but they are something like 8-1 in 2018 with mostly brutal KO finishes (media gave Yoel the fight so they would be perfect otherwise). I read fightnomics a few years back, and they had collected data on thousands of fights across years and years and I recall there being several factors that were able to predict a fight's outcome successfully. I think it was age, reach, etc. But a huge one was the weight as well. Guys who missed weight disproportionally LOST the bout, actually. I.e., if you missed weight, your odds of winning the bout decreased.
What has changed in the last year or two to reverse this trend that has held true throughout MMA's (granted relatively brief) history? I think it has to be the early weigh-ins. I know it depends, but in some cases, these guys are getting an extra half a day to refuel and rehydrate their bodies. Even more in the case of some guys who choose to stop their cuts and start rehydrating early while their opponents are still cutting. Those hours between the current e.g., 10am weigh-ins vs the old 5-6pm weigh-ins are apparently making a big difference in fight outcome and swinging the pendulum in the favor of the heavier fighters.
Obviously small sample size, could just be an anomaly, etc. But its interesting to consider and IMO something to monitor - unless moving back to later weigh-ins is a done deal.

Khabib won’t be champ for long if they change the rule.
Darren Till and Khabib are two fighters it obviously benefits

Bryan Caraway is beating up ugly babies somewhere. He was with Miesha for so long, they break up and she gets knocked up by a dude she was dating for around 6 months.
Their kid could be on the Seinfeld ugly baby episode.

PFL producing fun one way or another these first two weeks. Last night Sean O'Connell went from doing play-by-play to stepping in the cage and ko'ing Ronny Markes in a barnburner. Jason High phantom tapped to Escudero and then started flipping chairs outside the cage to express his rage. And Robert Watley delivered one of the most vicious ball kicks you've ever seen not allowing Thiago Tavares to continue, and per PFL's rules that meant Watley was awarded the flawless victory. Was like an MMA/pro wrestling mix or that first Bellator ppv.

Ahh, that actually kind of sucks to hear that about Jason High. I was always a fan and thought he got an unfair shake by the UFC. Actions like that though probably retroactively justify their actions.

Supposedly he had a history of his temper getting the best of him, which is something of which I was not aware. Thought maybe the announce team were retroactively justifying the commission's decision and preemptively PFL's to not be able to rectify the decision in their format. That is a tough thing to deal with. You realistically lose out on a chance at a million buckeroos because the ref saw a ghost tapping on High's body. Same thing with Tavares cuz he got kicked in the nuts. There are drawbacks to the tourney format of course when it comes to meritoriousness, which is supposed to be its strength.

Firas JRE podcast was so awesome until it veered off into a philosophy 101 lecture. Him stating that science is "woo woo" because there are assumptions we make before accepting scientific evidence, such as there is order to the universe and everything isn't completely random. Okay. And the fact that the theory of gravity has evolved over time isn't an indictment of science, it's a strength of science! He outed himself as to why he was even making those arguments in the end IMO when he said religion is just as true as science lol. Also, GTFO with the "Jordan Peterson is a leading intellectual in the world" or whatever that exact statement was.
His stuff about not overtraining and flow state was good though. Wish he focused on Rory and other fighters a little more than just GSP, personally. Also he made some comment about Rogan having one of the most powerful kicks in the game lol. The legend continues!

Firstly, thank you. This is important to understand.
I am only an hour or so in, I did not know it was going to go there. I will literally stop listening, cos that sounds painful.
Also, lol @ Firas and science. Him talking about how childhood learning is potent because those are the years where a child's brain "wrinkles" develop... Haha. No.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Truly, Rogan's bro science / intellectualism is out of control. I was listening to his Cat Zingano episode, and he outright RECOMMENDED A PRESCRIPTION THYROID DRUG. As if he were a **** doctor. She mentioned some condition, he was like, "oh you should try this, it worked for me."
It's not just that it's irresponsible, it's that it totally lacks perspective on what the landscape of science and knowledge is. If Rogan can spell "endocrine", I'd be surprised.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Well, to be fair, it depends on how you define "leading," "intellectual," and "world."

The conversation got a little tiring for me but I don't really blame Firas even though I disagree with some of what he was saying and question his motives. He was a philosophy major, yea? Unless I'm confusing him with Danaher. I'm sure it was Rogan that kept the conversation at a PH101 level, I feel like he was misinterpreting a lot of arguments because he hadn't heard them before.
