Re: Cammo Counts Down The Top 100 MMA Fighters of All Time
You can drive yourself insane talking in circles about "this guy is better than this guy, because he beat these guys, who beat these guys..."
This is why you have to factor in things like accomplishments, Marquardt fought for a UFC title, won a Strikeforce title, and is a 7 time King of Pancrase. Kampmann has none of that. That is the kind of thing that seperatestop 50 guys from top 100 guys.
Anthony Pettis was one of the last people cut out. He just has not fought and beat the level of competition guys like Nate Diaz and Kampmann have. Though I like him a lot better than both and expect him on this kind of list very soon.

Seems like a good place for Evans, which makes Marquardt's ranking even more ridiculous.

Re: Cammo Counts Down The Top 100 MMA Fighters of All Time
I think Rashad is high too (not as high as Nate). "Tito Ortiz, Rampage Jackson, Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin, and Michael Bisping..." None of those opponents and/or wins were impressive, really. Not to make him among a group of MMA greats. The first three were way outside of their eras, each one of them in the midst of long losing streaks. I'm not gonna look it up for the exacts, but I mean we're talking long, unbroken losing streaks from both Tito and Chuck and a listless part of Rampage's career. boxrec.com has a thing where you can see the opponents' previous 5 fights color-coded for wins/losses. There'd be a lot of red losses for his opponents in those portions of their careers. And remember the Tito win came only after he first drew with Tito and was saved from a UD loss by a meaningless point deduction. Leaving him with who, Forrest and a 205 Bisping? Nothing impressive there.
*looked it up: Chuck wasn't on a losing streak, exactly. But he was in the middle of going 1 for 6. Tito in the middle of 1 for 9. Rampage 2 for 6.

Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

Re: Cammo Counts Down The Top 100 MMA Fighters of All Time
That's a fair point, but I'd argue that if he'd beaten each of those guys in their absolute prime, he's probably top 10 instead of top 40. You can pick apart a lot of guys' resumes, but Rashad's is pretty solid, no matter how critical you get.
And the way I remember the first Tito fight is that if Tito hadn't been grabbing the cage to prevent being taken down, he probably drops the round and the fight.

He didn't beat even one of them in their prime.

#33 - Rickson Gracie

http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Rickson-Gracie-292
Probably the biggest enigma on this list, Rickson Gracie is a redbelt (which I hear they don't just give away) in Gracie BJJ. Depending on who you ask, Rickson is either 11-0, or 200-0 as a fighter. It is a shame Rickson was not able to fight in MMA after the TUF boom, because he is one of the most talented fighters MMA has seen. He holds victories over Masakatsu Funaki, Yuki Nakai, and a bunch of martial artists dumb enough to accept the Gracie Challenge.
Rickson vs. Sakaraba is one of the greatest fights to never happen.

Then Lee Murray would appear before Rickson. His story is more credible than the Gracie personality cult telling me Rickson also built the Great Wall and killed Rasputin.

Re: Cammo Counts Down The Top 100 MMA Fighters of All Time
Rickson's best win was the guy who lost every fight except for the fixed Coleman one (that is now admitted and public knowledge). Oh, and a Nakai who was like 80 pounds less and literally had his eyes gouged out the fight beforehand. Hell Roger should probably be before Rickson.

Re: Cammo Counts Down The Top 100 MMA Fighters of All Time
I wonder what the combined record is between all of Rickson's opponents. My guess is below .500. I know he fought some of the cans twice.

I am NOT a fan of this list. It's my 3rd least favorite list.
