Merab is so freaking good. God damn that was one of the better performances I've seen in a minute.

Relentless ass dude. Plz give him Suga Show at some point or ever Cejudo would be a freaking clinic.

If I shot 40 takedowns and threw 400 punches in a room by myself, I would be out of commission for a week. This dude is doing it vs Yan.

Fence grabs won Grant and Krylov their fights, and cost their opps a lot of brain damage and a loss each.

They newd new rules to punish this, centred on granting the opponent position. Davey Grant lost a point but was then allowed to restart the fight standing. He then TKOd Assuncao. So unequivocally fence grabbing was worth it.

What a relentless beating from Merab. Yan couldn't even plant his feet to counter. That was beautiful.

Ed Herman finally has retired. Clay Guida may never retire. Both dudes have been in the UFC since 2006.

I watched the entire card for the KC Allen/Holloway bouts, here's my thoughts from the day of fights. I don't normally recap like this so we'll see

Edwards won over Pudilova in a SD, but probably one of the worst judged decisions I've seen. Edwards was getting pushed around and no active, somehow was credited with more strikes at the end but the eye-test didn't seem to be the same for me. Pudilova had some TDs too so I thought she earned a UD. Weird.

Denise Gomes TKO'd Bruna Brasil, she's one to watch in straweight, seems to have excellent striking and TKOs aren't that common for WMMA. Fun match.

Ed Herman lost by TKO3 to Zak Cummings, but it was a solid fight. Zak is from KC and retired post fight, as did Herman who's been around longer than I've been watching MMA... this was a good fight as well, I appreciated the respect they showed each other and to the crowd.

Brandon Royval's knee KO of Nicolau was really impressive, and this fight was vs ranked flyweights but on the prelims. UFC did both fighters wrong IMO.

Algeo submitted TJ Brown in a wild 2 rounds of action then proceeded to take his gloves off to act like retiring but then dissed KC "I wouldn't ever retire in a dump like Kansas City" I just don't get the attitude  They hadn't done anything to him, is he an Eagles fan? Poor class but he's a fighter.

Garcia v Guida, dudes how does Guida have nearly 60 professional MMA fights?

I missed Munhoz Gutierrez actually.... but Cutelaba annihilated Tanner Boser, Cutelaba is wild.

Muzakanov/Jacoby I was thinking would be a KO but they both fought tough. I actually thought JAcoby did pretty well and might have won a couple rounds but Muzakanov was putting in combinations at the right time, I think he did more dmg too, so I'm ok with the UD for Muzakhanov. He is still undefeated, maybe that's a factor for the future in the UFC to promote it more idk

Barboza needed that win badly if he's giving it another run, he's 37 so there's not much time left for him but obviously he's a solid opponent. Great KO.

The main event was a good fight too. Good UD for Max. I always feel like these up and coming strikers like Allen get too much in their head on how to gauge distance and end up losing the fight due to output....and the fight flies by really fast. They kind of reach their point of comfort and boom, it's the final minute if R5.

That seemed to be Allen's issue because he was point fighting for the middle rounds and not putting Max in any dangerous moments it seemed, he was taking more hits and not connecting as well. Credit to Holloway for being evasive, I thought the only way Allen was going to win was to go hard in R4 and 5, and he really only attacked hard in the final minute of each round. Holloway knew he was ahead and had no reason to throw in the outlandish offense, smart on him.

Holloway might consider a move up in weight honestly, I'm not sure why he would stay as Volk's gate-keeper, unless UFC gives Holloway v Volk 4 (if Volk beats Yair???) Allen's proved he's ready for another top feather contender, that will make a big difference, maybe he looks to take on Korean Zombie or something like that.

Pavlovich dominated last weekend. What a chance for him to fight the winner of Stipe and Jones (that's happening later this year so he has time to train for both really.)

Hopefully Jones doesn't retire after Miocic.

Ok we got most of our sh*t done so am home now & alternating between this & the Blue Jays vs Braves game.

Missed all of the early prelims/prelims though so, hopefully someone can fill me in(I did look up the results already for that).

Apparently this is on ABC...

I actually watched the first three fights of the main card but missed all the prelimes. Ulberg was great, as was Garry. Both KOs in dominant fashion. I think Pereira vs Ulberg would be a great fight if they do that
