Volkov fought his technical fight in the co main earned the decision rightfully.

In the main event Whittaker ref stoppage against the other guy in 1st round. Good for him.
I don't mind Whittaker, I think he's a good character guy I don't know that I've heard any skeletons in his closet thankfully.

Fun night of fights, impressed with Volkov's poise and impressed with Whitakker's KO. IT was a dangerous fight for both and RW and Aliskerov, plus some entertaining scraps earlier on the card. Review to follow...

picks review 6-of-11
Spoiler:
Aliskerov | KO/TKO | Round 2
Pavlovich | KO/TKO | Round 1
Gastelum | Decision
Magomedov | KO/TKO | Round 1
Walker | KO/TKO | Round 2
Haqparast | Decision
Naimov | Decision
Fakhretdinov | Decision
Kang | Decision
Gadzhiyasulov | KO/TKO | Round 2
Lee | KO/TKO | Round 2

FOTN - Volkov's technical derailing of Pavlovic's power - I think most ppl thought the big hitter Pav would just chop him down but Volkov presented a lot of problems and beat up Sergei in what looked like easy work.

top performance - Whittaker's devastating uppercut finish of Aliskerov. Career on the brink of contending and not, he needed this win and did it in style.

silver star - Lima beating Naimov on short notice. Great win.

big win - Vo;kan Oezdemir beating the ever dangerous Johnny Walker - JW, who now ads to his highlight lowlight real of finishing and being finished as Volkan put his lights out.

Best stoppage - Shara MAgomedov's KO of short-notice opponent with a right hook. Awesome fight and great finish.

Please no more - I'm always chuckling in irony at the Saudi's desire to remove ring girls. I'm also tired of seeing Kelvin Gastellum miss weight and then have boring-ass control fights. He's not paying the price for the weight division he's in, and he's pretty slow at MW.

In other news, Conor's fight is canceled bc toe injury and MacGregor made an appearance at Bellator's Dublin event saying "I'm not lettin' dese bums have an advantage over me". Dana said, "I'm not scheduling a fight with Conor until he's healthy." Time to wait some more!? NYC PPV is probably my best guess when they/if they fight in November.

Get better soon - Perez' knee, which buckled due to Taira's takedown. It didn't look good, and Taira said it was an accident, but in fighting, your goal is to injury or incapacitate your opponent, and he did that easily.

I was 6-for-11 on Saturday - but picking with my heart is a bad thing, I never learn. Also I was drunk watching the main card, and half-watching the prelims.

FOTN - Charles Johnson (has a back-beard??) with a great 3-rd fight against Josh Van. KO uppercut!

top performance - Namajunas DEC against Cortez. It was game main event, Cortez was out matched IMO, but Rose needed this win and showed a solid performance. Though I don't think it was dominant, just enough to be the superior fighter. Home crowd liked the win, and enjoyed the other DEN fighters on the card too.

silver star - Jean Silva forcing a DrStoppage v Dober. It was a scrap

big win - Julian Erosa's guillotine choke v C-rod, who I picked. That was unexpected for me!

Best stoppage - The 'Quik' KO from Montel Jackson. Left right, Lights out! It took, what, 15 seconds?

Please no more - Accidental blows tot he back of the head ended the fight v Brundage and Alhassan, I think it was BS and Brundage, after being gifted a UFC 300 appearance, basically quit. My homies lost all respect for him, because the 'accidental head strike' to the back of the head was because **** Cody Brundage covered up and didnt' defend himself and put his head there. He was rocked by a punch or two before, legal ones, and played if off. I'm glad it was ruled NC not DQ.

Get better soon - Darrius' Flowers, Josh Fremd's UFC careers. Poor showing from both.

PS - fights in Denver seem to highly affect fighters, but I actually think it's a challenge some fighters should accept. It shows who is in shape and who isn't. That being said, these cards in elevation (Utah, Denver, Mexico City) ~~Albuqueque, if they ever visit there~~ mean just jumping in and accepting a fight here and looking good, those fighters are in great shape.

Tracy Cortez, for example, she accepted this fight on slightly short notice and looked unaffected by the elevation, her fight game was just a notch below Rose's (Also, looked fine in elevation, but she lives in DEN).

Agreed on all fronts. [Though I'll still probably have it on, because I'm that guy]

Not hot take: One of Cody Gibson / Brian Kelleher will be cut

Garcia | KO/TKO | Round 1
Kruschewsky | KO/TKO | Round 3
Silva | KO/TKO | Round 2

Gibson | KO/TKO | Round 1
Barbosa | Submission | Round 2
Radzhabov | KO/TKO | Round 2
Carolina | KO/TKO | Round 3

I had it on but really wasn't paying attention to it at all whatsoever sadly.

Was more focused on gaming.

It was a decent card for sure. If you can find the fights online, maybe ESPN+ replay or something, a few fights were pretty good level.

Gaziev v Mayes - Gaziev is a decent HW, but slow for sure
Murzakanov v Menifield - Murz has good striking for LHW, it was performance bonus
Alvarez v Brenner - also solid, and a performance bonus

Ferguson lost again, dont' watch that fight it wasn't competitive as were a couple fights between Brenner and Shara
Figgy v Vera was slow, not worth it

But co-main and main ev were good!
Shara Magomedov v Oleksjczuk was solid for Shara's striking as well. Fun fight
Main Event Numagomedov v Sandhagen - slower striking battle but good wrestling exchanges

I was 6-of-13 on my picks this week, don't follow my selections, its all for fun! lol

There is a pretty not-noteworthy UFC event in the Lamepex this weekend. 10 bouts and 2 fighters have already missed weight (Mariscal and Chandler) -- not Michael Chandler lol

The UFC essentially needed a main event to cover ESPN broadcast needs and just threw whatever they could dredge up. Some decent fights out of the 10, but nothing really that 'pops'. Danny Barlow co-main event will be my one fight I'm really gonna catch, other than that, we'll see how if I cant fit it in, I have a friends bday party to attend midday on SAT

pix --
Spoiler:
Spivac | KO/TKO | Round 2
Mariscal | Decision
Barlow | KO/TKO | Round 1
Gutierrez | KO/TKO | Round 1
Chandler | Decision
Kazama | Submission | Round 2
Rosa | Decision
Williams | Decision
Zalal | Decision
Alencar | Decision
