Man, the ufc needs Askren. He’s on fire. It doesn’t matter if your style is ‘boring’ if your personality is lit. I want to see every fight he has and I never watched a single fight of his lol

I'm confused though. He's making his services available on Jan. 26. That's when he's scheduled to face Lawler. TMK, that fight is still on.

So this seemingly is just talk from Askren to stay in the public consciousness, and good thing for him considering I think Usman is the worst possible match-up in the division for him. Usman would sprawl and brawl him until the ref or his corner mercifully stopped it.

Askren patty cakes Usman into a living death.

So Askren is saying there is talk about Usman vs Askren at the Jan 25th PPV for the Interm title?
If that is the case it's crazy, but it would be a crazy chess move on the UFC's part too because Woodley and Askren said they wouldn't fight. It would be the UFCs way of getting the title off Woodley, who they hate for whatever reason.

That's crazy. I bet it happens just so they can take the belt off Woodly and set him up against a killer or freeze him out all together. I'm sure they'd be more than happy for him to walk and get paid elsewhere.

Someone on a podcast brought up the idea of Max coming up to fight Diaz at 155
Personally I love this idea. You get to try and mimick the Conor path to success, and if he beats Diaz it’s s great set up to fight Conor or just give him Khabib or Tony winner
Think how many punches would be thrown in that fight...and the **** talk, oh the **** talk lol

Calling it now. Askren vs Usman for the interim title. Woodley is good to go early March, lets say Usman wins. Usman wont be ready for the 1 month turnaround, so the UFC strips him of the interim belt and Woodley and Colby fight in March. Basically just rinse and repeat what happened a couple months ago haha.

I just dont see the motivation for Max to jump up if it isnt for an automatic title shot. Every other champion that has changed weights gets an automatic title shot. Dont get why Max would be cool with losing his belt then having to work his way up (even if its just 1 fight) for a title shot.

I think a much more reasonable scenario is Khabib gets a 6 month ban in January, Tony and Max are good to go March or so and they give them an "interim title" bout.

With that said, I think both guys end up losing to Khabib if he ever returns.

I could see it if it's against Conor. Red panty night, great introduction to the toughest division in the UFC and an opportunity to avenge his last L before becoming champ.

Stealing this post from Sherdog forums, but found it interesting. If this is true, damn Chuck sucks with $$$

EDIT: Link to article https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/ufc/dana-white-fires-back-at-oscar-de-la-hoya-with-extensive-figures-on-chuck-liddells-ufc-earnings/

This was put together based on what dana said while going off on de la roya. It's basically a cliffs version of the segment.

Take what you will from it. They were having an interesting discussion over there.
Bringing it over here for as reddit sucks.

Dont know if its true, but Usman posting a pic of him saying its a contract to fight Woodley next for the belt. Not a fan of Colby, but the dude got screwed over big time. You give him the interim title shot, he dominates the fight and gets the interim belt. He is good to fight Woodley on like a 2 month turn around, so you strip him of his interim belt and have Till jump him for the title shot. Now Usman has a fight Dana liked and now Usman is jumping Colby.

Again not a fan of Colby, but the dude definitely got screwed over. The UFC just needs a little bit of structure. The past couple years (basically after being sold) the company has just looked like a chicken running around with its head cut off.

Then at HW, Im a huge fan of DC. But Stipe is getting screwed up there. After the longest run as HW champion, he doesnt get an immediate rematch. Lewis who was so clearly outmatched gets a title shot. Then a couple weeks ago Dana said if Brock cant fight, they will look for a 205 guy for DC. Stipe got screwed over big time.

Wait are you saying Chuck sucks with money because of the rumors of him needing money, or saying he didnt get paid enough from the UFC? I agree with the 1st if true. It looks like he got a pretty cozy deal from the UFC though.

He sucks with money because he made millions fighting, then got a $300k/yr job where he literally had to do nothing, and now needs money. Like he never thought once "Hey, maybe I should get some sort of financial advisor"?

Okay ya I agree with you 100% on that. Ya the UFC gig after retirement was one sweet gig. The dude literally did nothing except show up to big time fights and watch them cage side and got paid 300-400k a year for it. Ya if those numbers are even close to being right and if Chuck did fight Tito because of money problems, ya the dude has no clue what hes doing.

I thought they were going to have Cain vs Stipe. But still a good fight. Also great way to completely kill Ngannou's mind set again. If Cain is only like 80% of sea level Cain, he is going to beat down Ngannou like no other.
