DeLaHoya is just the name for GBP... he really has not done anything as a promoter. I don't have high opinions of Schaefer personally, but he has done consistanly given us alot of great fights as the CEO of GBP compared to Top Rank and Arum. TR seems 2nd rate, and that is something that I didn;t think they would be 5 years ago.

These announcers need to watch out, they're making some negative comments about Mayweather. Al Haimon's gonna have them taken off the gig. "More excitement in one round than in most Mayweather fights total."

Schaefer IMO is just as responsible as Arum for holding back the sport. While he produces better overall matches on Showtime, his greed is keeping him from putting his ego on the side and working with Arum, and vice versa. I give credit to ODLH for actually trying to end this thing. It could end up being a fruitless attempt, but at least he recognizes that the sport would be better off if both promotional companies did business with one another.

Arreola/Stiverne II on ESPN tonight for vacant WBC HW title. Only reason the rematch was made so that Arreola could get a shot at a HW trinket since the first fight wasn't much of a contest, Stiverne was clearly the better fighter but whatever...I guess anything can happen.

Arreola was up on two scorecards before the TKO.

I just saw the fight... it was a great fight. You have to give props to Stiverne. He cracked a guy who is very hard to put down. Arreola went 12 rounds with Vitali eating every type of punch... I am glad that ESPN picked up the fight. I hope they can do a fight like this every other month or so.

Well that is shockingly bad... Shobox/ESPN has better fights than the undercard.

Yea. This is why boxing PPVs suck. They focus on showcasing crappy unknowns who are the favorites of particular promoters instead of putting together a card people actually want to see. This is embarrassing. Bellator's PPV has a more compelling undercard than this crap.

We actually got two great heavyweight fights this year and none were featured on HBO or Showtime.

Cunningham/Monsour was featured on NBC sports and the fight on Saturday was featured on ESPN.

Golden Boy is the only promotional company that actually puts together decent undercards for major PPV's. Well at least Floyd's PPVs.

Arum and Dibella could give two **** about the undercard.

That was a great fight Saturday night. Too bad for Arreola, I thought he was winning the fight and he got caught on the temple then it went to hell for him. Looks like it is setting up to be Stiverne/Klitschko for all the marbles, wonder if HBO picks it up or ESPN gets involved.

Rumored numbers for the previous 2 PPV:

Pacquiao-Bradley II 750-800k

Mayweather-Maidana 850-900k

EDIT: Found that Arreola-Stiverne did a 0.8 rating on ESPN.

F yeah... great fight for lomachenko vs russell...

one of the few times purse bids actually get a great fight made...

The June 21 Showtime card has shaped up to be a solid one as not only will it have the anticipated showdown between Vasyl Lomachenko and Gary Russell Jr., but will now also feature the returns of Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero and Devon Alexander in separate bouts. Guerrero will take on Yoshihiro Kamegai (24-1-1, 21 KO's) in what is being announced as the main event. Alexander will will fight fringe contender Jesus Soto-Karass. The card will take place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Guerrero has done literally nothing in the ring since dropping a wide decision to Floyd Mayweather last May. Since then, the biggest thing of note pertaining to him has been his conflict with Golden Boy Promotions. He was reportedly going to court over the dispute, but things must have been patched up somewhat for him to be getting back in the ring.

Alexander has been inactive since his decision loss to Shawn Porter in December. That loss doesn't appear as bad after Porter steamrolled Pauiie Malignaggi in April. Alexander's opponent, Soto-Karass, is a very sturdy slugger who will come to fight. Alexander is certainly the quicker of the two, but Soto-Karass will be on him the entire night. Alexander has been campaigning on Twitter to get a fight with Floyd Mayweather because of his own win over Marcos Maidana a couple of years ago. As unlikely as it seems, you never know what could happen, and a win would put him right back in the mix. A rematch with Porter wouldn't seem all that unlikely either.

The contracts for the Lomachenko - Russell Jr. fight have reportedly been signed so it's actually going to happen. Better get in your last few TBA jokes while you can. Despite not being given the main event slot, it's the best matchup on the card, and feels like there are endless possibilities to what could happen. I'm excited for the fight, and happy that both parties have decided to go through with it.

Surprised that the manny fight did so well... they were expecting better... i was expecting worse...

The Mayweather fight did the respective expectations given that Maidana didn't really have the general public behind him as much and there wasnpt alot of promotion leading up to the fight. I kinda caught me off guard how quick it came.

Solid rating for ESPN boxing I guess...

Maidana has a bigger fan base than Bradley. He also has a more fan friendly fighting style with a history of being in more fan friendly fights. So it's no surprise that fight did better(barely) than the Pac fight. I think the Mayweather fight showed that the public wasn't going to be duped into buying a PPV against a guy that they never thought would stand a chance. I think a rematch does a bit better, but still under the million dollar mark.

Everyone's high on Lomachenko? I caught that fight against Salido the other day...Vasyl moves beautifully...what a pleasure to watch. And didn't get shook by jumping right into the mix, evidently, he's back with another tough opp.

Exciting stuff.

Marquez-Alvarado tonight from Inglewood, CA(The Forum) on HBO. Definitely has some potential for fireworks but I also kind of see this being an entertaining, one-sided type of fight for Marquez, maybe a late stoppage on cuts.

Alvarado is an old 31... but Marquez is a HOF fighter... I am going with an upset. Alvarado just out works him.
