There are rumors that pacquaio - a celtics fan, is going to delay his fight until game 7 is over.

Re: Boxing Thread 3.0
I actually think that's a great think for us sports nuts. Now we don't have to worry about missing anything, and constantly flipping channels back and forth.
It's sad this fight isn't garnering that much excitement because this is the first young buck(that's in his prime) that Pacquiao has fought in quite some time.
And Manny coming it at 147 is a bit concerning because he usually comes in around 144-5 pounds at weigh ins.

As good a boxer as Bradley is, Pacquiao should consider retirement if he doesn't knock down Bradley at least once.

Surprised by it too, since Bradley looks good and has a good chance of winning, IMO.

I think Roach was quoted as saying he will advise Manny to retire if he doesn't beat Bradley in convincing fashion.

I guess it's surprising to us because we actually follow boxing. But if you really think about it, a lot of this has to do with Bradley having absolutely no fan base or popularity. Now that could all change tonight, but this is a guy that couldn't even get his hometown excited to see his fights.

Yea but it makes me wonder if there was a similar lack of buzz for some of the lamer Mayweather fights like his bout with Baldomir.

Re: Boxing Thread 3.0
Well back then Mayweather wasn't the PPV draw that he is now. He didn't reach that status till his bout with De La Hoya.
Besides the Clottey fight(which was put together at the last second after the Mayweather fight fell through the first time around), this is second opponent that he's faced that has absolutely no drawing power whatsoever, despite his top 10 pound for pound status.. Like I said that could all change tonight if Timmy has a great showing, but clearly it effected the buildup of the fight. Most people are like, "Timothy who?"

Re: Boxing Thread 3.0
Bradley-Alexander was a pretty big fight, don't forget. A lot of anticipation. I'm not talking household anticipation, but every boxing fan wanted to see that. It was the biggest of the first half of 2011. And it got neither fighter anywhere.
A great showing by Timothy tonight will involve headbutts and hitting on the break and forcing Pac into the ropes for swarming punches. It's not going to make him fans. His best chance of getting a following will be if he can TRT & HGH it up through his late 40's and earn some sort of respect with longevity.
On the 24/7 show, mind you, you could see his trainer focusing on Bradley maintain his defensive shell, being resolute, and looking for openings. IDK, man, seems looney to try to stand with Pac and counter-punch. I'm wondering if that's 'planted' information.

Could have something to do with the Marquez/Pac fight. Everyone seems to think that Pac can't deal with counter-punchers because of his struggles with JMM.

If this is true then he's already lost. Waiting for a basketball game to finish before starting your own? What the heck is Pac doing following the C's anyway? He lives in LA, and the Cs don't have a large following in the Philippines.

I am from the school of thinking that Bradley is a very medicore fight.... and I agree with you. Bradley does nothing at all at a elite level except use his head.

JMM is playing a whole different sport when it comes to counter-punching. Bradley had best not try to replicate it, IMO. I think their references to counter-punching are to throw off the Pac camp, maybe.
