Can't believe that this is still an on-going debate.
It's like asking who will win one on one in a basketball match. Someone who is as big and as athletic as Lebron without any experience playing ball, and Steph Curry.

Exactly, one kick to the leg and Zion would just hobble away and leave the octagon/ring
A leg kick from a professional means he’s out for the season he’s not hobbling away from a leg kick

Shows how little you know. The gloves makes it so that these amateurs feel that they can go all the way out thinking that they cannot seriously hurt him if they do get a hit in when in reality it protects their hands from not being damaged by their awful technique. All in all this made it harder for him to dodge, not easier and you can see that they do not get a single solid hit in so it really means nothing in terms of demonstration how a trained fighter can easily dodge the clumsy punching attempts of an untrained person. Zion would not fare any better than these guys, maybe even worse. Lastly this was to show how easily a trained fighter can dodge amateurs not a demonstration of a street fight but hey good job missing the point entirely.TGW wrote:I can't believe this went 39 pages.
First of all, there's no way McGregor would win in a street fight. Zion is a 285 lbs super-athlete with long ass arms. McGregor is a good UFC dirty boxer, but in a street fight, dirty boxing doesn't exist. Zion would pick his little ass up and slam him. Maybe if McGregor was a decent BJJJ or sambo technician, he could stand a chance, but in a no rules environment, Zion would crush him.
This thread has been going for 39 pages because ignorant people keep making terrible arguments like you do which have already been debunked dozens of pages ago.
He said Zion would pick him up and slam him what the **** how does he expect Zion to get within reach to grab him

The bigger guy would win he’d just bulldoze through Steph and score layups or just post him up

Connor would just arm bar him into submission if he tried something so stupid. Or since this a street fight and people think everything goes, just breaks it outright. Good bye basketball career.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

It is not possible for a guy to win a fair fight giving up 100 pounds of muscle. None.
Just imagine you, the average guy fighting the biggest guy you ever met in your life. Zion has hundreds of ways to win the fight and McGregor has just a few options. Also, in an alley fight, there are no rules so Zion could easily get out of any ground and pound situation by attacking eyes or groin. Zion could literally pick up McGregor and throw him through a wall.
Just imagine the scene in Friday where Zibo is chasing Katt Williams and replace them with Zion and McGregor.

You do realize that that's what happened in the first UFC's where there were no weight classes? And Royce Gracie won against huge guys? They were not Zion level huge, but they were MARTIAL ARTISTS training from their youth. And Royce Gracie as legendary as he is is nowhere near Conor level due to the evolution of MMA... He was just a BJJ wizard, but had very limit striking etc...
Any UFC fighter can dissect any NBA player. Even someone like James Johnson, who is 7-0 in his MMA career or something, and a legit karate? black belt would get beat by most UFC fighters, and he is not that far away from Zion physically.
EDIT: Kimo Leopoldo in UFC 3 was like 250 pounds and Royce Gracie was 175 or so. And that's 2 professional fighters. So do a little research common

As long as it's street fight then clearly the guy with no fighting skill wins. That's how it's done in the streets, yo.
It's almost as if some people here have no idea that martial arts were designed to defeat bigger unskilled opponents.

I really hope you're joking for your sake. McGregor is not an elite grappler but he's still a BJJ brown belt which is light years ahead of any form a grappling skills that Zion has. Size only matters when 2 guys are equal in skill and experience. If anyone is getting slammed on there head... It's Zion!
Zion has 0 experience in any form of combat and 0 skills as well. In a street fight, Zion would get slept within 30 seconds. Anyone who believes otherwise has never been in a fight or knows very little about any combat arts.

Re: Back Alley brawl: Zion vs McGregor who wins?
I think this would happen:
Bob Sapp had no chance even though he had like 100 kgs weight and like 10 cms height advantage. And Kunkli was just a well trained muay thai fighter - who was actually a well known fighter in Hungary - but had no recognition outside his country.
It wouldn't be a competition even if they limit the moves that McGregor can perform.

My guess is that you have never been in a fight before. Zion only has one chance at winning and that's landing a wild haymaker that he never expected to land.
McGregor could beat Zion anyway he pleased. Whether it's standing up or on the ground. Zion won't have the technique to take McGregor down and he doesn't have the skills to outstrike Connor. McGregor can finish Zion whichever way he decides.
Zions chances of beating McGregor in a street fight slim to none and slim just left town. The fact that this even a debate shows the lack of knowledge and experience people on these forums have when it comes to fighting.
Zion or any NBA players would get slept by McGregor or any half decent fighter.

It's gotta be just people taking the p*** at this point. Just seeing Zion walk with that weird gait makes you scared he's going to injure himself, he shouldn't come anywhere near a real fight, let alone with a professional.

I'm surprised you even acknowledged the grappling aspect of his post. McGregor essentially has a PhD in dissecting the body with submissions and positioning. Zion Williams would get beaten by any purple belt on the ground unless they were mega old.

I really like this comparison. Could I beat steph in a game of 21? Sure, if I just chuck it every time and the ball simply goes in, while steph misses every time, even if it's a lay up, I'm going to win. But is that likely to happen? Nope, not at all. In fact it's so unlikely, you might say it won't ever happen. It's the same with Zion fighting Conor. It's just so extremely unlikely Zion could ever win, it's safe to say he won't ever win

To be fair to Bob Sapp, who is a terrible fighter, he somehow beat Ernesto Hoost. Twice.
He was on about an entire stable's worth of steroids at the time and makes Brock Lesnar look tiny, but still…he's actually kind of not a great example. What's really weird is that he somehow only got worse as he gained more experience.
